Kenya Moore Defends Her Image on Wendy Williams

Kenya Moore might be a newbie on Real Housewives of Atlanta, but just one episode into Season 5, she had already claimed the label for the Mean Girl. Kenya already does not get along with at least two of her cast mates, and she continues to go back and forth with Cynthia Bailey and Porsha Stewart over petty things such as calling her Miss America versus Miss USA and how to properly judge a beauty contest. With each incident, Kenya has been penned the aggressor. And ever since then, Kenya has had a hard time shedding the label for the biggest villain this season. Interestingly enough, Kenya blames her reputation on the show on shady editing. So it’s no surprise that she still doesn’t take responsibility for her mean girl ways during her recent sit down with Wendy Williams.

Kenya Moore stopped by the Wendy Williams show to dish about her mean girl image on the show, her beefs with Cynthia and Porsha, as well as whether or not she actually did flirt with Phaedra Parks’ husband Apollo.

When Wendy asked Kenya if she was acting terrible for the cameras and if she’s a true mean girl, Kenya says:

“I don’t play for the cameras. What you see is who I am. But I have to say, I think the mean girl reputation is not deserved. I know initially you guys saw the Jet Beauty of the Week contest, some things were said but it was a montage.

I am a girl who will always support young black women. I am the last girl who will put another girl down. But it kind of felt that way when we watched it [the Jet Beauty of the Week contest scene]. But in the room, we were having ton of fun, it was a ton of coochie crack going on, and I called them out on it. I didn’t think it was as big as it seemed to other people.”

Interestingly enough, Kenya actually seemed to embrace her mean girl label in an earlier interview with US Weekly when she told the publication, “Good girls go to Heaven. Bad girls go everywhere!”

Of course she didn’t have nice words when Wendy brought up Porsha Stewart. Kenya made her feelings clear as she slammed the young woman for not respecting her work ethic:

“I think she’s kind of single handedly ruining her grandfather’s legacy for one. I’ve worked for everything I have ever had my entire life. I’m a hard worker, I’m educated and I sort of stand for something. When someone just doesn’t respect your journey, I don’t relate to that. You know some people work for a living and some people twerk for a living.”

And then there’s that rumor floating around that she inappropriately flirted with Phaedra’s husband Apollo. Kenya has already gone on the record several times and claimed she did not flirt with her cast member’s husband, but people still aren’t buying it. But instead of denying it this time, she comes for Wendy for even asking her about it:

“Well how do you know Apollo wasn’t flirting with me? You have to watch to see where those rumors are coming from and form your own opinions and not extrapolate your information.”

Despite Kenya denying that she ever flirted with Apollo, Phaedra seems to think she did. She tells US Weekly:

“It’s in poor taste to flirt with another woman’s husband. But Kenya doesn’t always have the best judgment.”

Burn.

  1. LOL at Wendy trying to be messy and fish for her to try to come at NeNe. Kenya may be ratchet but she knows better than to come for NeNe.

  2. I really don’t like Kenya. She tries to cover up her nasty attitude with that fake smile of hers. I can’t wait until someone shuts her down on the show.

  3. I like Kenya. She’s ratchet and makes the show interesting. And I agree with Wendy, Cynthia is boring. Even Sheree was more entertaining than Cynthia.

  4. Well, when you are being sneaky and undercover and c-ck-blocking 100% of the time, a real woman has to have some fun. If you get out of the way, it surely wouldn’t be with your “so-called” husband. Young ladies tend to play a lot of games. Real women always sense when your playing too many. Women that can go for theirs do not have to go for yours. But for some reason, they always like to make it seem as if you are. Get out the way, go take care of your own husband and let the ladies have some fun until it’s time to get serious! Haters come in all shades and are from any profession!
