It’s no secret that Eve and Stevie J’s relationship ended on some pretty bad terms. The former couple dated when Eve was new to the rap game, and a 19 year old up and coming rap superstar. Although Eve does credit Stevie J. as being her first love, Stevie J. put her through a lot emotionally as he is said to have cheated on her numerous times. The couple did end up getting engaged, but Stevie J.’s wandering ways kept the two from ever making it down the aisle. Despite the not so positive end of their relationship, Eve still feels like the unhealthy relationship plays a part in the woman she is now. However, she really doesn’t seem to have an interest in ever getting back on Stevie J.’s bus.

In a recent interview with Philly’s Hot 107.9, Eve dishes the details on how she feels about Stevie J.’s stint on Love And Hip Hop Atlanta, her new music, her current beau, as well as how she’s managed to be friends with Alicia Keys, Mashonda, and Swizz Beatz despite their drama.

Eve has been dating Maximilion Cooper for two years. She says that this relationship is the first “grown up” relationship she has ever had:

“This is a grown up relationship. This is probably my first grown up relationship. We can discuss how mad we are at each other, where we actually hate each other but love each other in the moment. That’s grown up. I don’t throw stuff no more, it’s grown up.”

Eve says that she has not watched on episode of Love And Hip Hop Atlanta because she doesn’t really want to see her ex being a mess on reality television. She says:

“I don’t watch it. I swear on my life, I’ve never watched it. I hear about it…I’m not surprised. I do hear about it. But I can’t watch it, it’s crazy.

I’m so happy with the dude I’m with, so why go backwards? There’s nothing in me that makes me feel like I need to watch somebody being a fool from what I hear, anyway.”

She also reveals she’s managed to be friends with Mashonda, Alicia, and Swizz Beatz regardless of their controversy. According to Eve, they have all managed to be mature enough to make their family life work. But did she confirm that something really did go down despite Alicia claiming that Mashoda’s making the whole thing up? She says:

“They’re all good. People are grown ups. That’s how it works. They’re chillin’. It is what it is. They went through what they went through. And now it’s all good. They share families between them, so they have to be cordial. It’s all good.”

And even though Eve is in a really good place in her life, she does make it clear she still doesn’t have any desire to talk to Stevie J. again. When the DJ asked her what would happen if she saw Stevie J. on the street, she answers:

“There is no conversation. Just a hi and bye.”

Eve hasn’t dropped an album in years, but she did confirm that her next album will be released next April.

  1. Stevie J. made her who she is. He may have dogged her out but musically, she would not have became who she was without Stevie J working with her as her producer. She needs to be more cordial to him.

At least give him an “Hey. How are you doing?” LOL

  2. LOL at her comments on Stevie J. I know she has to feel like she dodged a major bullet. It’s amazing how our first loves usually end up being losers when it’s all said and done.

    1. This is true! And she’s good enough that Nicki Minaj’s name should not even be put in the same sentence as hers. IJS.

  3. Eve seems so happy now. Her bf is a fine man with lots of money who treats her good, I’ll call that an upgrade from Stevie J.
