The Keyshia Cole and Mary J. Blige beef always thrived on mere speculation. Since Keyshia stepped onto the R&B scene, the Oakland, California native instantly drew in comparisons to Queen of Hip Hop Soul Mary J. Blige. As a result of the comparisons, it’s always been rumored that Mary J. Blige was not a supporter of Keyshia Cole. Although Mary has reached out to younger R&B singers in the past like Jazmine Sullivan, Keyshia claims Mary did not ever reach out to her and ignored her each time she tried to reach out to the R&B legend. Keyshia even recently stated that she felt Mary should have provided guidance for her in such a cold music industry, especially since Mary’s resume includes numerous successful albums and hit songs that helped her stay relevant in a fickle industry for many years. This is not the first time Mary has been rumored to “snub” other singers who have been compared to her, as even Faith Evans confirmed that Mary J. Blige abruptly stopped talking to her once people began to compare their styles and Diddy began to groom her professionally.
Keyshia tried to squash the negative dynamics between her and Mary by suggesting a musical collaboration, but rumors suggested Mary refused the request, and there were even reports that Mary’s husband Kendu Isaacs went so far as to have Keyshia Cole removed for the lineup to a Mary J. Blige Tribute for BET.
Despite the alleged Tribute drama, Keyshia is still trying to make peace with Mary in her latest interviews, and we guess somehow Keyshia was able to eventually get Mary to have a change of heart because the other day Keyshia told a fan that Mary J. Blige had finally agreed to do a song with her.

As much money problems as they claim Mary is currently having, she may not be able to afford to keep beefing with anyone. IJS.
Sadly, Mary has a problem with anyone who intimidates her. So far, Keyshia has done pretty good with her career. I’m glad they are moving past it, but it’s a shame how petty Mary is.

Neither did Faith, but she got intimidated by her. Mary is human and people cause her to second guess herself just like the next man.As fickle as the business is, you damn skippy she’s intimidated of anyone that reminds people of her. That means they could take her spot.

I know Monica must be dying right now at this news lol….Mary and Keyshia never had beef. People kept putting them against each other, drawing comparisons. Not really anticipating the collabo though, eh.
Mary has always been the better singer and artist in my eyes. Like they said, Mary has a long résumé that Keyshia wish she had. And Faith Evans done fell off the world and is no longer relevant to what Mary is.
Lastly, if you’ve ever seen MJB in concert…she rocks the h**l out of them arenas! To say that can’t sing is ignorant of some of you.
