Beyonce is making her return to the music scene in a rather big way. The singer performed at the President’s second Inauguration and ended up at the center of the infamous “lip sync” controversy, but she bounced back in a major way with her critically acclaimed Super Bowl halftime performance. Despite the drama that resulted from her fellow Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams taking the stage for a brief reunion of the girl group, it looks like more positive news has come from the performance in addition to praise from First Lady Michelle Obama. Not only are tickets set to sell like hotcakes for Beyonce’s upcoming The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour, but now it appears that Beyonce has seen a significant bump in sales as a result of her halftime show.

MTV reports:

“The biggest bounce was for Bey’s most recent album, 4, which jumped up to #12 on the iTunes album chart, followed by the DC hits collection #1s at #42, her solo debut, Dangerously In Love (#45), 2008’s I Am … Sasha Fierce deluxe edition (#60), the deluxe version of 4 (#64), another DC hits comp, Playlist: The Very Best of Destiny’s Child (#68) and the original version of I Am … Sasha Fierce (#79).

“Other charting albums include: the trio’s The Writing’s On The Wall (#97) and Love Songs (#99), Bey’s 2006 solo effort B’Day (#100), DC’s 2004 swan song, Destiny Fulfilled (#166) and their 2001 album Survivor (#195).”

In related news, Beyonce’s halftime performance wasn’t just praised by her fans. Even the former members of Destiny’s Child LaToya Luckett and Latavia Roberson had nothing but good things to say.

LeToya tweeted:

“I.N.C.R.E.D.I.B.L.E. #soproud…The MOST entertaining Super Bowl I’ve ever seen in MY life from start to finish! #Handsdown”

LaTavia Roberson wanted to make it known that she was happy for her former group members and has no beef because she has a successful career of her own. She tells Celebuzz:

“Obviously, seeing Beyonce perform was the highlight for me. I got a real surprise when both Kelly and Michelle both popped up on the stage like that. I thought they all looked great and did a good job with their dance moves. Beyonce was especially amazing. She looked fabulous and her voice was really strong. During the performance somebody texted me to say they could not hear Kelly and Michelle sing. It was so noisy in the house where we watched the performance that I did not really notice anything wrong. But who knows? They probably had some technical problems.

“It was great to see them all performing together and I have no bitter or bad feelings toward any of those women. I wish them all the best. I am at a good place in my life and things always work out for a reason. I am working on several projects with both acting and music that are exciting to me.”

  1. And that was the whole point of he SB performance…sell more albums, and get people hype to see you at a concert. Smart move.

  2. Good to hear that everyone has moved past all that DC drama. That’s real grown up of all of them. And yasss at Bey slaying so hard that she got more album sales. #BAWSE

  3. Get em Bey. And sidenote, I still love me some LeToya Luckett. She’s doing her acting thing now too. Very pretty girl.
