Joe Budden‘s ‘No Love Lostalbum doing well on the charts? Joe Budden was known to most as the man responsible for the club banger ‘Pump It Up’. And now he has added reality TV show star to his resume as the rapper joined on board this season as a cast member of Love and Hip Hop. Along with Joe came his ex-girlfriend Tahiry Jose and his supposed “best friend” Raqi Thunda who have been bumping heads with each other from the very start of the show, it even being rumored that Raqi was behind some recent gossip about Tahiry’s marital and STD status. As for Mr. Budden, not only has he been doing his thing with LHH, he has kept himself busy in the studio as well as he recently released a new album titled ‘No Love Lost’. It’s been a minute since Joe Budden put out a solo album, other than the mixtapes that he was pushing out, as the rapper had been struggling with drug abuse, something that he has candidly talked about in interviews. And he has even gone to the extent of calling out rappers who are constantly praising the use of a certain drug in their songs. Other artists have snagged record deals and seen their music careers move forward because of their time spent on reality TV shows. And now it looks like Joe Budden is seeing the very same thing happen for him as ‘No Love Lost’ became the first number one album that the rapper has had in his career, the album topping the Billboard Chart:

Nearly 10 years after his self-titled debut album opened at No. 2 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, Joe Budden nets his first No. 1 on the list with “No Love Lost” (30,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan). The chart-topping bow is the latest in a string of successes for the New Jersey rapper, who joined Royce Da 5’9″, Crooked I, and Joell Ortiz to form the rap supergroup Slaughterhouse in 2008. The collective’s Shady/Interscope debut “Welcome To: Our House” also opened atop the list in September with 52,000 copies.

R&B singer Avant had some good news too as his new album did well in its debut week too as the singer has gone from the music scene for awhile:

Also debuting high on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums this week is R&B veteran Avant with “Face the Music” at No. 7 with 14,000 copies. The Cleveland crooner’s seventh studio album is his first top 10 title since 2008’s “Avant” debuted and peaked at No. 6. The current set’s lead single, “You & I,” featuring long-term collaborator Keke Wyatt, holds steady at No. 3 in its 22nd week on the Adult R&B airplay chart (viewable on billboard.biz).

Congrats to Joe Budden and Avant.

  1. Oh yay. I heard Joe’s album is pretty good. I need to check Avant’s out too. I’m glad not everyone is giving up on R&B.
