Kanye West is known for being controversial and it’s pretty much just expected that the rapper will do something out of the box in every single one of his performances. Lately, Kanye has taken to wearing some of the most “interesting” outfits on stage, and his newest love now is including masks in his recent performances. But it would be his recent performance at the benefit concert for Hurricane Sandy that would cause the most controversy he’s had in quite some time, if you don’t count the recent announcement that he and his current squeeze Kim Kardashian are having a baby.

During his performance for the Hurricane Sandy benefit concert, Kanye performed in a kilt. Social media went bonkers instantly, and Kanye was dragged in numerous publications for wearing a “skirt” and rapping about materialistic possessions for a hurricane benefit concert.

The performance wasn’t one of Kanye’s best moments, and the rapper even requested that his own performance didn’t appear on the concert’s album. But it now appears that he’s taking more steps to erase the performance from everyone’s memory. It’s now being said that Kanye has requested that the photo wires remove all pictures of him performing in the infamous kilt.

Here’s the report from Gawker:

“Incidentally, if you are wondering why the art accompanying this post is not of Kanye in that infamous kilt, it’s because it is now impossible to purchase a picture of him in it from a photo agency. Getty confirmed that they were asked to scrub their site of the several shots of Kanye from the 12-12-12 show they hosted. They wouldn’t say why. If this somehow came from Kanye, and the mockery he faced afterward made him ashamed of his bold move (clearly made with the knowledge that strong reactions like Jamar’s, however backward, were possible), that makes him weaker than any skirt possibly could suggest.”

Interestingly enough, as we reported recently, rapper Lord Jamar just made a diss track about the rapper slamming him for wearing a kilt during his performance and even claimed he is the founder of “Queer Rap.”

  1. Kanye is a mess. He cares too much about what people think of him. That’s why I’m still puzzled that he’s dating Kim.
