Nicki Minaj is without a doubt one of the most successful female rappers the industry has seen in decades. However, the Young Money artist’s career hasn’t been without its criticism. In fact, many have labeled Nicki as a sellout for crossing over into a Pop star and Nicki has made it clear that the criticism she gets makes her feel like the industry is against her at times. Nicki has also come under fire recently due to her new gig as an American Idol judge. Although Nicki is bringing in millions for sitting on the panel, she hasn’t necessarily made friends with Mariah Carey and the catty dealings between the two stars has been ongoing for months. It’s even clear on recent episodes that things still aren’t “fine” despite Nicki claiming earlier that they were past it. But when Mariah told Barbara Walters that Nicki threatened to shoot her during a disagreement on the set (claims Nicki denied), Nicki made it clear that the show has become pretty stressful.
So it wasn’t a shocker that the female rapper was disappointed when she didn’t receive any nominations for a Grammy late last year. When reports confirmed that she wasn’t nominated, Nicki took a Twitter hiatus that put her fans in a frenzy. She even blocked some of her own fans for claiming that they “understood” why she didn’t get nominated. Most notably, Nicki’s manager even ranted on Twitter about the snub and said the whole ordeal was “bullish*t.”
Despite any of this, Nicki claims in a recent interview that she’s not salty that she didn’t get a Grammy nomination and even claims she understands why she didn’t.
She tells the Associated Press:
“I think that the Grammys had a different reason [for not nominating me] that I do not want to discuss,” said Minaj, cryptically, before adding “and that’s just between me and them.
“When I go to my shows and I’m selling out arenas in London, and when I’m in Australia and Japan, there aren’t any Grammys there. There are human beings who I’ve touched. There are human beings who are inspired by me, who I love dearly. And that’s what my career is based on.”
Nicki also claims that she’s also not sweating the Grammys snub because she knows she’ll get one eventually.

She cares. Why else would she have blocked her own fans on Twitter?
Lies. Of course she’s salty about it. Why else did she quit Twitter for a whole month? LOL.

She didn’t get nominated because her music is trash. I’m sure she’s delusional enough to believe it was another more “political” reason but it’s really not.
Well when you keep doing remixes and redoing the same damn album, people get bored. She didn’t deserve a nomination IMO.
