Is Gloria Govan leaving Basketball Wives? Gloria Govan joined the Basketball Wives franchise a couple years ago with her sister Laura Govan, landing spots on the spinoff version of the original show. And after the fight that her sister Laura got into with Malaysia Pargo on the first episode of the show, people though that Gloria Govan leaving Basketball Wives was sure to happen soon. Yet both Gloria and her sister decided to come back for another season, along with Gloria’s husband NBA baller Matt Barnes who has admitted that their stint on the show had taken a toll on their relationship. Gloria Govan boldly stated that Basketball Wives LA was her and Laura’s brain child and not Shaunie O’Neal’s, who was been one of the people heavily credited for the idea of the entire Basketball Wives franchise, Royce Reed begging to differ. Gloria Govan and her husband Matt Barnes ran into HipHollywood at the world premiere of the movie ‘The Call’ and was asked about what was going on with Basketball Wives LA for next season.
It was confirmed that the cast of BBWLA was going to be revamped and supposedly that Gloria and Laura Govan were among the list of cast members that were going to be cut from the show. But the way Gloria puts it, all of the cast members of BBWLA may be shown the door as there may not even be a third season at all the way things are looking. Gloria isn’t bothered by that though as she and Matt have other plans:
“We haven’t been picked up for a third season yet, so I’m not really sure where we are with it. But I’m really excited about all the new upcoming projects Matt and I have going on. So, when the time is right, I think it’ll be about time I leave that show anyway.”
And when asked if the show is cleared for another season would she return, Gloria says:
“I probably, most likely, will not be on Basketball Wives LA again so…But we have some really cool exciting stuff we’re wrapping up this week so definitely look out for that.”
