Kevin Hart’s career may be on the up and up, but the comedian’s former marriage hasn’t been without a few bumps in the road. Kevin and his former wife Torrei Hart decided to divorce in 2011 after about seven years of marriage. While the former couple cited “irreconcilable differences” as the cause of their demise, it’s been speculated that infidelity may have played a part. Kevin somewhat confirmed the rumors in a recent interview with Ebony Magazine and says he feels he’s to blame for the end of his marriage. He says:

“When I was married, I definitely went through a lying period. I just turned into a liar, but you learn from your mistakes. Being that guy once upon a time has helped me develop into the man I am now, and I approach relationships in a completely different manner.”

It seems that Kevin and Torrei have finally agreed to a divorce settlement, and it appears that Kevin made out well compared to most male celebrities. According to TMZ, the comedian only has to pay a lump sum of $175,000 to his ex-wife, but she still gets child support and gets to keep a few very valuable items. Here’s a snippet of the report:

“Hart, who is worth a reported $9 million, will pay his ex, Torrei Hart a lump sum of $175,000.

“But Torrei does get a few fabulous parting gifts, including an Escalade and personal stuff like jewelry.

“All signs point to a prenup.

“In the end Kevin is not getting off the hook scot-free … he has to pay $19,785 a month in support for their 8-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son.”

  1. He cheats on his wife and gets to keep most of his money. I wonder if he’ll pull the same jacked up move the other black celeb men have been doing by taking the children so they don’t have to pay their exes child support.

  2. I guess. I like Kevin but I still think he did his wife dirty. And the way he announced his divorce all giddy at the BET AWards was wrong as hell.

  3. Good for him. These women need to stop walking away with half a man’s net worth just because the marriage didn’t work. That’s BS.

    1. Thank you! She should take that money and start a business if she’s not already making her own. I’m still tripping off of the child support amount. It doesn’t take that much to raise 2 kids.

  4. I like Kevin but damn she couldn’t even get a mil. This is the woman that held you down from the beginning. Now you with someone who probably wouldn’t have giving you the time of day 5 years ago. SMH I guess loyalty is just not an important trait anymore.

  5. I dont agree with her taking half his earnings however its not right if he is living in luxury while his kids are struggling
