As we reported recently, earlier this week, rapper Lil Wayne was hospitalized after he suffered from seizures. Weezy had just wrapped up shooting a music video when he began to suffer from seizures. He was taken to a hospital, and released the next morning, and sources told TMZ that he was doing fine. But now it appears that Lil Wayne is back in the hospital, and his condition is worse than it was before. TMZ is now reporting that he is in critical condition, and suffered from more seizures after being released from the hospital on Wednesday. Insiders are telling TMZ that the cause of the seizures are being linked to codeine that was found in his system. Allegedly the rapper went on a syrup binge drinking session after he got out of the hospital earlier this week.

Although the codeine was pumped out of his system, he’s been placed in an induced coma. The rapper is having to rely on tubes to breath and his family has already made it to his bed side in an emotional state.

Unfortunately, sources tell the website that the doctors found very large amounts of codeine in his system, and things are not looking so good for the rapper.

Here’s a snippet of the report from TMZ:

Lil Wayne is in ICU in critical condition after suffering yet another seizure, and we’re told it doesn’t look good … TMZ has learned.

We broke the story … the 30-year-old rapper was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A. Tuesday night after suffering multiple seizures. He was released Wednesday but just hours later one of his bodyguards found him in his room, on the floor and unconscious.

Wayne was rushed to the hospital again, but this time he did not stabilize. He was taken to ICU, where he was placed in restraints because he was shaking uncontrollably.

We’re told Wayne is currently “unstable,” and has been placed in an induced coma. He is breathing through tubes.

Interestingly enough, the president of Young Money, Mack Maine is denying the reports. In fact, he says Lil Wayne is fine and he’s watching the Syracuse game with him. He also said they will be releasing an official statement soon (read the tweets from the bottom up):

We will update you when there is an official statement released and everything has been sorted out.

Update: Apparently TMZ got it all the way wrong. Lil Wayne just tweeted from his Twitter account and says he’s doing fine:

We’re not sure how TMZ came to the conclusion that Lil Wayne was on his death bed, but we’re glad the reports aren’t true.

The publicist of Young Money Records, Kia Selby, also released a statement, and confirmed that Lil Wayne did have a seizure and is recovering. However, she strongly denied reports that he is in a medically induced coma:

“We can confirm Lil Wayne did have a seizure and that he is recovering.”

Interestingly enough, TMZ is still standing by their story and claiming the rapper is still in critical condition. Lil Wayne’s rep did not deny that his seizures were linked to syrup use.

  1. Yeah. This is messy. People pick their words wisely, and “is recovering” just doesn’t really sit too well with me. But everything else aside, I pray he’s ok.

  2. I don’t think that he’s on his deathbed, but I do think that he’s in the ICU and maybe in serious condition. You don’t have to be half-dead or unconscious to be in the ICU. And I think somebody else tweeted from his account.

  3. The reps may be saying that because they don’t want anyone to know Wayne’s condition, if he is sick don’t cover it up so people can pray for him to be alright. TMZ don’t have to lie they pretty tell the truth and what Wayne’s spokesperson need to do is help him by trying to get him to go to rehab before he becomes way beyond help. As far as the Twitter from Wayne anyone can do that from his phone so …help him spokesperson, family and friends instead of being a crutch for his drug abuse.
