Rapper Lil Wayne has been in the hospital for the last few days and reportedly it’s because he suffered from multiple seizures earlier last week. TMZ originally reported that Weezy suffered from multiple seizures Tuesday evening after wrapping up filming for a music video, and the site claimed he left the hospital on Wednesday and was doing much better. Then on Friday, the website claimed that the rapper was rushed back to the hospital for allegedly binge drinking syrup, and by Friday night, the website was claiming that Lil Wayne was on his death-bed. Things got really confusing when close friends, family members, and YMCMB people started to drag the site and called the reports from TMZ false, however, TMZ didn’t officially retract their reports. Later on Friday night, a spokesperson for Lil Wayne confirmed that Lil Wayne was in the hospital and did suffer from multiple seizures, however, the rep strongly denied that he was in a medically induced coma, which was reported by TMZ.

TMZ’s report caused a lot of anger for Lil Wayne’s loved ones and friends, but the whole situation has caused many to question if there’s any truth to the reports that the seizures are linked to his “syrup” drinking. A source that is allegedly close to Lil Wayne told US Magazine that the rapper is addicted to syrup and does need rehab, and even suggested that syrup is the cause of his most recent hospital visit.

Regardless, people close to the rapper insist he is doing better and is expected to be released from the hospital very soon.

Cash Money co-founder Slim Williams tells radio station Cube in Seattle over the weekend:

“He’s [Lil Wayne] straight. They’ll probably let him go tomorrow. He’s alright and he’s chilling.”

As of now, the rapper is still in the hospital. But those close to him are suggesting he could be released any day now.

  1. He’s selfish for getting into the syrup stuff like he doesn’t have a tribe full of kids to worry about.

  2. Well when you have a whole bunch of “yes men” around you and they won’t tell you the truth about yourself, addictions will happen.
