It is with great sadness that we can confirm that rapper Trina’s brother was murdered in Miami on Tuesday. According to multiple reports, the female rapper’s younger brother was shot and killed by a friend after they got into a heated argument.  It’s also been confirmed that his killer lived close to him, and actually lived around the corner. While it’s still not clear what the friends were arguing about, whatever it was led to violence, and the slaying of Trina’s younger brother. Here’s the report from NBC Miami:

Residents said that the rapper’s brother Wilbrent Bain, who goes by the nickname “Gonk,” was shot and killed on Northwest 91st Street. Bain and the man who shot him were friends and lived around the corner from each other at Northwest 91st Street and 24th Avenue, neighbors told NBC 6.

The incident happened at about 9:35 a.m., according to police.

The two men had a dispute, and the victim began to get off his bicycle when Dobson took a firearm from his waistband and shot him multiple times, the affidavit said.

After he was read his Miranda rights, Dobson confessed to his involvement in the victim’s death, the affidavit said.

While Trina hasn’t said anything yet about losing her younger brother, her fans and supporters have been sending her prayers and condolences via her Twitter account. The entire staff of Urban Belle wants to offer our prayers and condolences to Trina and her family during this hard time.

  1. Whoa. She’s in my prayers. I hate to see young black men killing each other over the pettiest reasons. Whatever they were arguing about wasn’t worth his life. Smdh.

  2. Very sad how a heated argument turns into murder (which happens way too often).

Condolences to Trina and her family.
