Rapper DMX’s appearance on OWN’s Iyanla: Fix My Life was supposed to be a positive experience for all parties involved. However, it appears that the episode itself has caused lots of drama since the controversial premiere on the network. Iyanla claims that she’s genuinely concerned for DMX’s well-being, but the rapper feels she just used him and his personal issues for ratings. He even said through his spokesperson that he had no idea that Iyanla would be ask him about his alleged drug addiction, and he also feels that instead of fixing his life, she actually made it worse. DMX’s son Xavier said in a recent interview that he disagrees completely with DMX’s opinion on the show, and he even claimed that he feels DMX has ruined his own life. Since the appearance on the show, Xavier claims he hasn’t spoken to his father and he feels their relationship will continue to be non-existent because the rapper refuses to leave drugs alone.

DMX recently got in touch with TMZ and told the website that he feels he was set up by Iyanla, especially since he was told they would only discuss his addiction to women, not drugs. He also confirmed that he is considering taking legal action against the network. Here’s the report:

DMX is furious over his sit-down with Iyanla Vanzant on her show “Iyanla: Fix My Life,” which aired on OWN. During the chat Iyanla asked X about his rampant drug use and he didn’t hold back — appearing unhinged.

But DMX tells us … Iyanla pulled a fast one. She was supposed to ask him about his addiction to WOMEN … not drugs … and the dope questions were NEVER cleared beforehand.

He says, “Iyanla set the whole thing up to make me look bad for ratings,” adding, “That lady is toxic … My last words to her were that she can suck my d**k and she still can.”

X tells us, he’s already contacted his team to explore legal options — and wants the footage removed from OWN STAT… or else.

  1. I have to agree with 404. The real issue is his drug problem. If he had actually handled it sooner, he wouldn’t have had to be on Fix My Life and he’d have a relationship with his kids. That’s the real problem. And until he handles that, his life will be the way it is.

  2. I don’t blame him for wanting to sue. Iyanla doesn’t help people, she exploits them for a big fat check from Oprah. How can you fix someone’s life in two hours? Please.

    1. She doesn’t fix their lives in 2 hours, the show is filmed over a series of days and edited to fit the time slot. I could maybe agree with you if this was Dr. Phil interviewing him, but Iyanla has always had a very straightforward and honest approach that DMX could not handle. I think he expected her to lob soft-ball questions, but Iyanla isn’t that person.

  3. He needs to have a seat and get some real help for his drug addiction. He looked stupid on TV because he is addicted to drugs. That’s no one’s fault but his! I still hope he does eventually get the real help he needs from drugs!

  4. I agree with DMX because we all know before anybody agree to do an interview they go over what they are comfortable with answering. If he didn’t agree to talk about his drug addiction she should have respect that. She went their with him because of who he is. At the end of the day its all about rating/money. Let’s be honest who life can be fixed in 2 hours.

    1. True… BUT he also has to sign a waiver AFTER the episode is put together… so since he signed it he obviously didn’t have a problem with it being aired…. Sounds like he is having a hard time looking at himself, that’s usually a hard thing for people living foul to do. This lawsuit is just so he can save face.

  5. The purpose of the show is not to literally fix their life in 2 hrs & clearly the shows footage is shot over several days. The purpose of the show is to own & accept the things that have hindered these peoples lives & to move forward from it & began to develop healthy ways of dealing with those issues. How could she help him even with the womanizing issue if he’s high!!?

  6. Oh no DMX should have known she was going to bring it ALL up! how is one suppose to heal and improve without addressing everything! Since this interview DMX has disturbing footage on youtube i’ve seen and he has alledgedly fallen off the stage performing. he’s been a train wreck for years and now his children have seen him at his worst. Don’t blame Iyvanla blame yourself!
