Erica Dixon and Momma Dee’s sour relationship with one another is one of the key storylines of Love and Hip Hop Atlanta. While many are intrigued by the “love triangle” between Stevie J., Joseline Hernadez, and Mimi Faust; others are interested in the dynamics of Erica Dixon and Lil Scrappy’s relationship. Although Erica is the mother to Scrappy’s daughter Imani, she hasn’t managed to convince Momma Dee that she’s the best romantic option for the Atlanta rapper. Instead, Momma Dee seems to be pushing for Scrappy to work things out romantically with his former flame Shay Johnson. And even though Scrappy proposed to Erica by the end of the reunion for the first season, Momma Dee is still attempting to change her son’s mind about Erica and reunite him with Shay.
While Erica has said numerous times that she doesn’t feel threatened by Shay, she has expressed quite a bit that she is frustrated with Momma Dee’s antics. She’s also baffled by how involved she is in Scrappy’s personal life considering that he is a grown man capable of making his own decisions about love and women. In a recent interview with AllHipHop, Erica says she feels Momma Dee has an obsession to be so involved with her relationship with Scrappy because she has had such a horrible track record with men in her own love life. While she also said recently to Global Grind that she feels Momma Dee also needs to get laid, she admitted Momma Dee’s other gripes with her include her feeling Erica hasn’t made enough strides to form a relationship with her outside of Scrappy:
“[Her gripe] was I don’t spend time with her or do anything with her or take her out. I’m like ‘I’m with your son, not you. You seem to be confused.’ She might just have the Oedipus Complex. That’s your son, not your man.
“I’ve been around 11 years come August. I’ve seen Momma Dee run through about 10 to 15 men. No one sticks on. So that in itself speaks on her character.”

All that and more is why she should probably just walk away.
Momma Dee is a nut. I don’t think she’ll ever let Scrappy be happy.

Lil Scrappy is the definition of a momma’s boy. Erica shouldn’t marry him until he shows her he can stand up to his mother.

I don’t see it for Scrappy and Erica.
It does seem like Momma Dee has a weird relationship with Scrappy. But Scrappy needs to check Momma Dee not Erica.
