Is Lil Scrappy Broke? Creditors Go After LHHATL Checks

Is Lil Scrappy broke? The Atlanta rapper had a hot streak when de decided to collaborate with Lil John and jump on the crunk music train several years ago, however, he’s been struggling as a solo artist since the era for crunk music died. In an attempt to revamp his rap career, Scrappy signed up to do the first season of Love and Hip Hop Atlanta, and the show’s insane popularity has put him back in the forefront. However, Lil Scrappy’s legal and money issues are still prevalent and last year he had to battle his baby mama and now fiancee Erica Dixon thanks to his recent failure to make child support payments on time. Erica eventually withdrew her request to have his LHHATL checks garnished, and now that the couple is set to marry, things were starting to look up for Lil Scrappy. Unfortunately, now he has creditors seeking to put their paws on the reality star and rapper’s LHHATL earnings. Here’s the report from TMZ:

Long story short … Scrappy was supposed to cough up $72,218.68 to a concert booking company called Heavy Rotation back in 2010 — after he lost a legal battle in GA court. But according to HR, Scrappy never paid up.

The debt has since ballooned to $108,510.38 with interest and attorney’s fees.

Tired of waiting for their loot … HR requested to have chunks of Scrappy’s “Love & Hip Hop” cash go straight to them first, until the debt’s satisifed … which the court signed off on.
