Keyshia Cole and her comments about Beyonce’s song “Bow Down” continue to be the hot topic of conversation, but behind the scenes in the music industry, some are speculating that her opinion may have burned some bridges in the music industry. Earlier today, producer The-Dream may have confirmed the speculation, especially when he made it clear in his interview with The Breakfast Club that he couldn’t work with Keyshia after she came for Beyonce on Twitter. Just in case you missed it, here’s what he had to say about why he’s refusing to collaborate with the singer in the studio at this point of his career:

“Right now because of what happened I can’t and I think she would respect why I can’t. That’s my family. You have a grown up conversation you know, ‘You’re talking about my family and you can’t do that.”

To no surprise, Keyshia Cole responded on her Twitter account. The singer made it clear that she’s not upset about the producer’s comments and she feels it won’t affect her music career any. Read the tweets from the bottom up:

Twitter of course erupted after Keyshia tweeted her thoughts and Beyonce’s fans have been going “ham” in her mentions ever since the infamous tweets about “Bow Down.” The-Dream’s mentions haven’t been the most positive either since the media ran with his comments on his refusal to work with Keyshia. He also responded on Twitter and says his decision is all about loyalty. He tweets (read from the bottom up):

  1. I respect The-Dream’s choice. Hell, if Keyshia can state her opinion (as the haters say), then hell, he can state his and say he doesn’t want to work with her. It’s as simple as that.

  2. It’s his choice. Keyshia made her choice (to throw shots at Bey), so he made his. I don’t feel sorry for her. For the last few years, Keyshia has spent more time and effort on beefing with other singers. I’m over her and I won’t support her in any way at this point. She’s too catty for my liking.

  3. The fact that she even tweeted about this proves my she’s not a bigger star. She should be too busy to respond to EVERYTHING people say about her. Not to mention, The-Dream was very respectful when he said he couldn’t work with her. People that are in the Carters’ circles will align accordingly. That’s life.

  4. She’s pressed. If she was really doing something in her career, she’d have a publicist to handle these kind of things. She needs to get her weight up and humble herself. Beyonce has only tweeted like 4 times. Why? Because she’s a superstar and too busy for Twitter beefs and rants. Keyshia lives on Twitter but not in the studio, or on the charts. #Fail

  5. No one held a gun to Keyshia’s head and told her tweet about Beyonce. She did all of this on her own. The funniest thing is she called Bey a hypocrite but she’s the biggest hypocrite of all because during the SB, she was jumping up and down for Beyonce. She was a QUEEN then. But now she has beef? Real? Please. Keyshia Cole is just as fake as K. Michelle’s booty. I’m tired of her.

  6. In the real world. you risk a lot when you give your unwanted opinion. She wanted the attention, she wanted to tweet, so she deserves every bit of karma coming her way.

  7. If he’s friends with them, why would he NOW work with Keyshia? It’s not rocket science in why he’s not trying to work with her.

    1. Exactly. Sounds to me like he was TOLD not to do it. But Keyshia should have known that her comments would come back to haunt her. Then again, maybe she really dont’ care!

  8. This is standard music industry politics. It’s been going down for years. When someone is a big artist, people want to stay in that artist’s good graces. Keyshia is not fit for the business. She’s not smart, she’s ghetto, and I see why she’s not successful. You don’t have to like someone’s song. But damn, why do you have to tweet and get mad about everything? She’s so weak and lame.

  9. One name: Jay-Z. This is what this all really about. Keyshia is not a big star. She never will be. But Jay-Z alone is a powerhouse. Bey is too. Why would you risk that relationship for a reality star and bootleg Mary J. Blige?

  10. The-Dream couldn’t even remember to spell her name correctly because that’s how unimportant she is…

  11. You have to respect the people at the top when you’re trying to get there. Now if you’re trying to stay at the bottom, then by all means, keep tweeting your bitterness like Keyshia does daily. You’ll get nowhere fast.

  12. my loyalty would lie with beyonce too!!! she has WAY more money and keyshia cole is nothing but a “ghetto superstar”…..and she is lying, she would love that The Dream would produce for her, this way should have a career and a sucessful album….lol

  13. They didn’t make her career and I’m sure they won’t break her career if GOD be for her who can be against her…she has a right to her opinion just like everyone else rather tasteful or tacky

    1. No, they didn’t make her career but she will be the one to break it. She’s been doing a good job of that all on her own. And if she has a right to her opinion, The Dream has a right to his and the right to refuse to work with her, just like others will as well. It goes both ways.

    1. Lies. Jay didn’t do anything to Chris. Chris just confirmed that a couple of days ago in his interview! You’re no better than Keyshia. Bitter, wishing for Beyonce to “come down” and “fail” because Keysha never achieved stardom. She’s not successful because she has a nasty attitude. All she can do is tweet! Bey’s world tour sold out in minutes. And as much as Keyshia hates the song, people are dancing to it in the clubs and she didn’t even release it as a single. Super Bowl, kicking it with the Obamas, $50 mil dollar Pepsi deal with her face on the can. Keep praying for her downfall. She’s already made enough money to ensure her whole family and daughter won’t have to work a day in their lives ever again. LOL. #StayMad And keep hope alive. Maybe Beyonce can get Keyshia on the blogs again next week. She sure does need the attention. Keep on hating. 😉

    2. What are you talking about? The Dream made his own choice and doesn’t want to work with her. That’s REAL life. If you give off negative energy, people may not want to deal with you anymore. I cut off negative, bitter people all the time. You’re wishing failure on Beyonce because Keyshia wanted to start a beef that has people in the business choosing Bey’s side. LOL. Girl stop. #WompWomp

  14. I like both of them and I don’t wish either one of them bad and I can state my opinion that don’t mean I’m mad or bitter and it don’t matter what none of them have at tha end of tha day you can’t take it with you people kill me acting like Jay n Bey is GOD….

    1. And here it is…the typical hater response. Saying people who support Bey and Jay-Z act like they are God. But you were on here defending Keyshia. I’m doing the same. Hypocrite much?

    2. So now you’re going to say success is overrated because you can’t take it with you when you die? Oh, ok. LOL.

    3. I like Keyshia. I like her music. But I think she was wrong for tweeting what she did about Beyonce. She made it deeper than what it was and it just sounded personal…like she’s jealous. Brandy said she doesn’t like the song, but she still has respect for Beyonce. Why couldn’t Keyshia say that? I’ll tell you why…because she’s jealous and immature…and not classy. She made this a big thing when it shouldn’t have been. Say you don’t like the song and move on.

  15. The Dream wouldn’t have worked with Keyshia even if she didn’t make those comments. He’s made it quite clear that he has artists who are top priority and everybody else is pretty much null and void (of course there are exceptions along the way). The loyalty aspect of it was icing on the cake. Keyshia is going to tweet herself into UnSungdom. TV One better get ready, because her career has gone as far as it will go.

  16. WOW. It’s so shameful that people can’t be entitled to their own opinions about something. I must say I’m not a Keyshia fan or a Beyonce fan, but I respect the fact that Keyshia isn’t scared to state her entitled opinion. And believe it or not, people do treat Beyonce and Jay Z like they are God. I get into it all the time with my friends that are die hard Bey fans and when they say to me they won’t pay their rent to go to a Bey concert that baffles me. No man or woman on Earth should be that powerful where if you don’t agree with EVERYTHING they are saying or doing that you will get criticized for your entitled opinion!

I’m glad The Dream was respectful and didn’t bad mouth Keyshia. If you think about it, Keyshia is pretty smart cause everytime she tweets her opinion people are quick to give her all the attention. People should stop feeding into her antics if they truly want her to go away.

    1. Keyshia is smart how? All the attention she’s getting from Twitter isn’t translating into record sales…but it is translating into getting blacklisted from the industry. But that’s smart? LOL.

The music industry isn’t different from Corporate America. Say something greasy about the people on top at your company and see if you still have a job later. It’s not rocket science.

Brandy said she didn’t like the song, but she was respectful with it. So people aren’t coming for her. Keyshia was messy and this is what she gets. Again, not rocket science.

    2. It’s funny how you’re calling out ONE group of stans like Rihanna and other celebs don’t have stans who are silly and don’t pay their rent to attend concerts. Better yet, what about the people who buy sneakers before they pay rent? The thing that gets on my nerves is how hypocritical people are when it comes to Bey just because they don’t like her. In one breath you say Keyshia is entitled to her opinion, well why isn’t The-Dream? He gave his and says he doesn’t want to work with her. What’s the problem? Better yet, why can’t Bey give her opinion which is that her haters need to bow down? That “entitled opinion” argument goes BOTH ways. Keyshia isn’t under fire for not liking the song, she’s getting dragged because she was nasty, came for Michelle, and is an overall nasty, hateful, and jealous person. You should find a decent person to defend on here because Keyshia sucks. I have no respect for women like Keyshia who always have something nasty to say about women who are more successful. She should stop hating and work on her fading career. I saw somewhere that her concert tickets were going for $5.

    3. Will if Keyshia is entitled to her opinion, so is everyone else whose been dragging her on Twitter. Funny how people are acting like Keyshia is the only person who is entitled to her opinion in the matter. I have no sympathy for her.

    4. I was speaking on my own experience with my friends who are die hard Beyonce fans. So I’m quite sure that other fans are being stupid not paying their rent to see other celebs who could care less that you’ll be homeless to attend one of their concerts.

I never said The Dream wasn’t entitled to his opinion. In fact, I said I was glad that he was respectful and didn’t bad mouth Keyshia.

I never said I felt sorry for Keyshia at all. But she is smart cause PEOPLE ARE STILL ENTERTAINING AND TALKING ABOUT HER COMMENTS!

I have worked in corporate America for almost 20 years and I have went toe to toe with CEOs, VPs, and Directors and never lost my job. You have to be smart in the way you state your opinion. Was Keyshia smart about the WAY she expressed her opinion NO, but she knew she would stir up some controversy and for that, in MY OPINION, she is smart.

      1. “I have worked in corporate America for almost 20 years and I have went toe to toe with CEOs, VPs, and Directors and never lost my job. You have to be smart in the way you state your opinion. ” <—You just proved my point. You didn't talk GREASY about any of the people at the top of the company because you know you would lose your job.

And lastly, a smart person uses controversy and gets something out of it that advances them. How is Keyshia smart when the controversy she caused isn't getting her more album sales and is causing the best people in the business to refuse working with her? As of right now her last album still isn't GOLD. That my dear is a flop. But if that's what YOU call smart, your standards are too low.

  17. The funny thing is Beyonce will NEVER be asked about Keyshia Cole in interviews. Most of the main media doesn’t even know who Keyshia is. Yet, Keyshia has to tweet about Beyonce to get press. Keyshia, you’ve already bowed down. The only person who can shade Bey and still have a career is Rihanna because she’s a boss too. Know your place. LOL!

  18. EVERYONE is entitled to express their opinion whether you like it or not. Keyshia’s career wont be affected one way or another by this..the beat will go on! There’s other producer’s out there that will work with her..no prob. Just because a lot of people are not Bey fans dont mean they “haters”..for whatever reason she’s just not their cup of tea! Even Beyonce herself isn’t arrogent or haughty enough to believe that she can NEVER be replaced, no matter how big she is..she was’nt raised to have that kinda attitude..she’s a very humble person! All the greats reigned during their time..long before Bey was even born. The Beatles..Michael Jackson..Madonna, were all on TOP just like Bey but eventually they had to step aside for the next superstar! You never know, it could be another up & coming superstar in the near future that will take Bey’s place. NOBODY stays on top forever!!

  19. “Keyshia’s career wont be affected one way or another by this..the beat will go on!” > Her career won’t be affected? LOL, but someone major just said they won’t work with her. The-Dream writes for EVERYBODY, even Taylor Swift who just sold millions in one week. And he’s not the only one who won’t be working with her anymore…just the only one who said it publicly. The music industry is full of politics, ask Keri Hilson. There’s a reason Beyonce doesn’t act stupid with other artists on Twitter. You burn bridges that way! There are alliances, you people that don’t know people in the business just don’t get it. But Keyshia will continue to flop like she was before all of this happened. LOL.

    1. LOL..King Bey i KNEW you was comin for me! You dont play when it comes to ya gurl Bey..it’s all good tho! We can all agree to disagree..have a great evening sweetie! U crack me up cuz you know you be ON IT when it come to Queen Bey!! 🙂

      1. LOL! Girl I subscribe to every Beyonce post…hahaha. Yeah, we can agree to disagree. It’s all love. You have an even better evening love. 😉

  20. I’m going to be real honest here. Keyshia Cole is a ghetto, bitter chick. She makes music for the bitter chicks, and only the bitter, hater chicks stan for her. Yeah, I said it! Some of y’all are saying she’s entitled to her opinion, well so Is The-Dream and every other person that doesn’t want to work with her. What part of that do you all not get here? It goes BOTH ways. All she does is take shots at other singers on Twitter, I can’t defend a bitter female like that EVER. Who the hell goes after Michelle Williams? Keyshia Cole’s bitter a-s, that’s who! Her last album didn’t even sell half a million copies. Why? Because she is getting the karma she deserves. There are plenty of other good songwriters and producers who will also blacklist her as well. Even Michael Jackson has people blacklisted who tried him. This ain’t new. Welcome to the business!

  21. Yeah..u right about that, Keyshia know she “ghetto-fabulous!” Lol..her career has never really been chart topping so it’s not very wise for her to burn bridges..she’ll need them! Time will tell tho…

  22. Again, I never said The Dream or Beyonce wasn’t entitled to their own opinions. My point is why can’t Keyshia Cole state her dislike about Beyonce’s song and not get bashed for it? Like people didn’t agree with my earlier post and they stated THEIR OPINIONS and I didn’t get nasty and come after them because they didn’t agree with me. So like we’re adults here expressing our opinions, why can’t Keyshia? If the story was flipped and Bey talked crazy about Keyshia Cole everyone would be praising Bey not bashing her for stating her opinion. That’s all I was trying to say. I agree stating your opinion does go both ways.

    1. I guess you don’t keep up with black celeb news. Brandy the singer said point black period that she doesn’t like the song. But guess what, she was respectful and mature about it. Nobody got upset. Brandy is a humble, cool person who understands how to express her opinions. But then you have Keyshia who feels the need to be nasty, classless, and call Bey all kinds of names because of one song she didn’t like. And just a few weeks before that, she went after Michelle Williams.I guess that was ok too? Keyshia has a NASTY attitude, so much so that a lot of people don’t deal with her in the business BEFORE this happened. The fact that you are defending someone that behaves in this way I can’t even understand. But in the next breath, you’ll talk about how ridiculous Beyonce’s fans are. But you’re a Beyonce hater, so I guess that explains it. -_-

And like I said, all of this “attention” won’t help those album sales. How smart! lol

      1. I’m not a Beyonce hater at all. I just don’t love her to death like her fans do. And I’m not really defending Keyshia at all. Bottom line Keyshia or whomever else in the industry should have a right to state their own opinions. Of course everyone can’t be classy and articulate in what they say, but they should have the right to say it. I’m no Keyshia fan either, never bought an album.

And I do keep up on the black celeb news and am fully aware of who has nasty attitudes and who doesn’t.

        1. You’re still not making sense…on one hand, you say Keyshia has he right to say what she wants…so then why can’t The-Dream, Bey’s fans, or whomever else respond? LOL. Seems like to me you’re being pretty hypocritical. If you’re going to say Keyshia has the right to free speech, then you have to understand that Bey’s fans and The-Dream have free speech too! I live in the real world. And in the real world, when you’re nasty and put out nasty things that make it clear you have a nasty attitude and you’re jealous, people will respond even nastier. Keyshia got her karma. And yes ma’am, you ARE defending Keyshia. Which is why you keep going back and forth with me for the last couple of days. I’m defending Bey and you are defending bitter a-s Keyshia Cole. Again, you have to ask yourself why you’re defending someone with such a nasty attitude and even more why people can’t say what they want to said person when they pretty much started all the drama from jump. Free speech goes BOTH WAYS. She started it, and now people are finishing it. That’s how it works.

        2. So I’ll sum it up once more, if Keyshia has the right to say what she wants, people have a right to stop working with her and dragging her on Twitter. And that’s the truth you Keyshia Cole supporters just can’t accept because you only want to pull that freedom of speech card when it’s convenient to you and your weak argument. LOL.

          1. LOL. We will agree to disagree cause I can’t defend someone I clearly have stated I’m not a fan of. Keyshia just happens to be a person in the situation at hand. And never did I say in any of my posts that Bey and The Dream didn’t have the right to state their opinions about Keyshia. I just said it’s a shame that Keyshia can’t express her opinion without getting slammed for it. Cause in the real world there are a lot of people who feel the same way she does about Bey (and no I’m not included in that since you believe I’m a Bey hater) and they are not getting slammed. It’s only because she’s a celeb and others are not. And I know that celebs sign up for the backlash they receive when they go againsted the beloved ones, but it doesn’t make it right. That was all I was trying to say. So I’m done with this post and moving on to the next one! Have a great day!

  23. Actually, if you read Twitter you’ll see people who aren’t famous getting dragged on Twitter for saying nasty things about Beyonce. It has nothing to do with fame. When you’re nasty and put out negative things about others, you’ll get it back ten fold. That is what karma is. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, just like Keyshia is. But so is everyone else who is slaying her in her mentions. Like it or not, people can respond how they want to if Keyshia wants to shade someone she’s just jealous of. That’s my whole point…you can’t say Keyshia has free speech but the people who want to respond don’t. That doesn’t even make any sense. If you can dish it, you better be able to take it because it’s coming. Again, your argument is weak, just like Keyshia Cole’s album sales.

    Peace.
