R&B singer Ciara is all set to drop her upcoming album Ciara this July, and with her current single “Body Party” and album presales impressively selling on iTunes, it appears she may be posed to make a comeback to the music scene. Ciara also recently spoke on her new album and says she feels it’s one of her most personal albums, and she credits her boyfriend Future for helping bringing out her more aggressive side. After so many last-minute changes we made to the album which was formerly named One Woman Army including the removal of two of her previous singles that just didn’t take off, only time will tell if Ciara made the right decision. But judging by her fans’ response to the new music so far, her future looks pretty promising.

The listening party for Ciara’s next album went down the other day and those in attendance are giving her new music rave reviews. Idolator writes:

So last night we went to a recording studio in New York to hang out with multi-platinum recording artist/Very Turnt Up Person Ciara and a few other journalists and some people from her label and her boyfriend Future (who is both better dressed and cooler than any of us could ever aspire to be) while taking a first listen to her fifth studio album, Ciara. And good news: It’s good! In fact, it’s great. It might be our favorite Ciara album to date.

That’s a relief, because it’s no secret that this album era hasn’t exactly gone off without a hitch — after being mismanaged by Jive and moving over to new label Epic, Ciara dropped a string of singles which failed to make much of an impact (“Sweat,” “Sorry,” “Got Me Good” — none of which are making the album, which is probably a blessing) before finally hitting exactly the right vibe with the ingeniously sultry, seductive “Body Party,” arguably her best slow burner since “Promise.” It’s been pretty much universally critically adored (is there anyone who isn’t having a #BodyParty these days?) and it’s produced one of the best videos of her career — and largely, that ambition is carried throughout Ciara.

  1. Good for her. Now all she needs is her fans to stick by her and buy the album this time. They have to turn out and support her.

  2. Alright now CiCi LOL, Ciara might have the last laugh. Alright Navy the C-squad coming for y’all I’m so messy. LMAO!!!!!!!!’

  3. Nice. Looks like Ciara isn’t finished just yet. That’s a good thing. The music industry needs more brown girls on top. I love Bey, Rih is annoying, but we need more brown faces.

  4. Now they got me hype to hear the whole thing. Well good for her. She owes us another Promise/Get Up type video though. Her dancing always gives me life.

    1. It took your fave seven years to get a number one album. Don’t forget where she came from. #SWERVE

          1. I don’t know and I don’t care I’m not a Ciara stan but it was funny and I don’t give a damn if its at Rihanna or her fans expense.

  5. Yes, Im glad and I will be buying her album. I want her to succeed! I said she would have to come back like she did “Promise” and Body Party i just that. I like that video with the seductive dancing!

  6. Don’t get too hype ciara fans, July is a long ways off. She still needs more fans. If she does sell nicely she still is at the bottom. Then she will have to find another gimmick for the next album.

    1. So let me get this straight, you’re wishing for her to fail? That says more about you than it does her. Get some happiness in your life so you don’t have to wish for others to fail you miserable soul. And if you had read the whole post, you’d see the part that mentions she’s already topped the iTunes R&B charts from ALBUM presales alone. So people are already buying her album in large numbers. Nice try though.
