The-Dream has made his way into the studio with some of the best in the game. And he is now on his way to dropping another studio album this May and has revealed who he worked with on his latest project, Jay-Z and Beyonce’ both making appearances on the new album. Speaking with The Breakfast Club, The-Dream talks about is upcoming album, his ex Christian Milian, shuts down the rumors that Nivea is pregnant and says he doesn’t feel the need to “beef” with The Weeknd because he has so much success at this point. The-Dream also reveals his feelings about Jay-Z clowning him at the Grammys and explains why he refuses to work with Keyshia Cole right now.

Like all the other industry people and music heads of the world, The-Dream peeped Keyshia Cole’s diss to Beyonce’ about her new single ‘Bow Down’, Keyshia calling Beyonce’ out as she felt Bey was being a hypocrite. Kelly Rowland has come to Beyonce’s defense. Now Dream is giving his take on the controversy. He was asked if he would ever work with Keyshia Cole in the future and The-Dream says after the way that she dissed Beyonce’, collaborating with Keyshia was a no go as he looks at Beyonce’ as family:

“Right now because of what happened I can’t and I think she would respect why I can’t. That’s my family. You have a grown up conversation you know, ‘You’re talking about my family and you can’t do that.'”

As for his personal thoughts on Beyonce’s ‘Bow Down’ record, Dream says:

“I think she said exactly what she wanted to say. I think when you’re at the top and you’re the pop icon of this culture….She got something off her chest that she wanted to get off…The first time I heard it, we were in the studio. And you know, I was loving it. I really love ‘I Been On’ better than that ‘Bow Down’ record. ”

The-Dream has revealed that he has been in the studio with Jay-Z but not too much as he made it clear that he understood the “unwritten rule” when it comes to getting into the studio with Jay-Z and Beyonce’. And obviously has a lot of respect for both him and Bey. And when asked about Jay-Z dissing his hat on the Grammys, he says he didn’t take it personal:

“Truthfully to me, that’s just how we joke around all the time. Unfortunately instead of our living room, it was in everybody else’s. If you don’t know us like that, because nobody thinks of Dream and Jay like that we know each other or even kid like that. So it was like ‘Oh he’s dissing somebody he don’t even know’. No actually, he just had a really good joke and really good timing at a certain place. And I just served that up for him.”

And he says that working with Jay on his new album was a great and that it is “amazing” that Jay is still at it like he is:

“It’s pretty amazing that this guy is still at it like this, that’s all I can say…”

  1. Knew this was coming. The faces he made when Charlamagne asked him if Keyshia Cole was blacklisted said it all. LOL!

  2. That’s exactly what she gets. She has a nasty attitude and I’m tired of her talking slick about every other singer in the game when she’s not even all that!

  3. The music industry is full of politics. If Keyshia was smart, she’d play the game smart. But she needs to be so “real” so she keeps hurting herself. Bey is at the top of the game. Be respectful. Do like Brandy did and say, hey, I don’t like the song, but I respect Beyonce. Nobody was mad at that. It’s really that simple. Learn the politics.

  4. Oh, please believe The Dream isn’t alone. Keyshia burned a lot of bridges that day. She’s an idiot.

  5. You never take shots at the people at the top…a smart person would get in their circle, not insult them.

  6. See? In the end, Keyshia doesn’t have a choice but to bow down. She can’t even get the top producers to work with her anymore. #PoorBaby

  7. It’s kind of annoying how locked down Bey and Jay have the music industry, but hey, it is what it is. Yeah, there are other producers, but the hot ones won’t want to mess up their relationship with Beyonce. Oh well.

  8. Meh, he’s not all that. But by the looks of his face, it seems like she might be getting blacklisted. She’s not the first artist and won’t be the last. The industry is very political.

  9. I don’t blame him. He’s not trying to bite the hand that feeds him. But I doubt Beyonce cares as much as her stans or friends do. People have taken shots at Bey for years. She survives it.

  10. Keyshia Cole’s career is lukewarm anyway. Blacklisted or not. I love Bey but she rubbed me the wrong way when she tried Mary J. Blige. She has no respect for the people who paid their dues in the industry.
