When it comes to dating a professional athlete, there’s a high chance things could end up getting pretty ugly. While athletes are primarily known for having lots of issues ranging from baby mama drama to even scorned lovers telling all to the media once things go sour, the legal issues that result from some of their failed romances are just as scandalous as the cause of the souring of their romances. Mario Williams, defensive end of the Buffalo Bills, knows this better than anyone else according to recent reports. Pro Football Talk reports the football player is suing his ex fiancée for $785,000 to get the engagement ring back. Apparently the couple’s relationship fizzled out and led to the calling off of the engagement, however, his Williams’ ex fiancée is refusing to return the ring. Williams also claims in the suit that his ex was nothing more than a gold digger and only wanted to be with him to receive lavish gifts. He’s decided to file suit in an attempt to retrieve the ring:

When Bills defensive Mario Williams proposed to his fiancee, he sealed the deal with a $785,000 ring.

Now that the engagement has been scuttled, Williams wants the ring back from Erin Marzouki. She refuses to surrender it, so Williams has sued.

According to KTRK-TV, Williams filed suit Friday for recovery of the ring, which includes a 10-carat diamond. Williams reportedly alleges that Erin Marzouki “never intended to marry plaintiff and used the relationship as a means to get to plaintiff’s money and acquire gifts.”

    1. Exactly. These athletes will learn soon enough that gold diggers come in all shapes, sizes and skin tones!

  1. Oh wow. I personally would just give the ring back because I don’t like to keep reminders of failed relationships, but a lot of women tend to want the keep the ring. To each its own.

  2. So how long did it take him to figure out she was after his money? He had to get engaged to her to figure that out? He doesn’t sound very smart.

  3. What the hell? She needs to return that ring. It’s one thing if you were married, but engaged only? Give that man that damn ring back.

    1. Its a Darn shame, Depending on the State if he broke off the engagement then she will not have to return the ring , howe come he didnt know she didnt really love him until he purchased a ring for that amount of money, come on son, you knew that before.

  4. A fool and his money will soon part ways. A man should know a woman’s character before he proposes to her. Smh.

  5. Damn. She just needs to hand the ring over and find her a new sucker. I mean a sucker is born everyday anyway. Lol.

  6. I wouldn’t give him the ring back cause he was stupid to buy it for her if he had a feeling that she was just a gold digger out to get lavish gifts. And he bought the lavish GIFTS. He’ll just have to suck it up and hopefully he’ll be smarter the next time around!
