Wendy Williams found her place in the talk show world as the former radio personality has moved her career in media forward, landing her very own show that airs on BET. While Wendy has continued to move up the success ladder, she has ruffled a number of people’s feathers along the way, including Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’s Janet Hubert and RHOA’s NeNe Leakes. And despite getting dragged by celebrities over the comments that she has made about them, that hasn’t stopped Wendy from putting her true feelings right on out there, no filter. In an interview that she did with Parade, Wendy Williams spoke on how she came into her own in the world of media, her insecurities about being tall and the one question that she doesn’t ever ask the female celebrities that she interviews. When asked what sets The Wendy Williams Show apart from all the other talk shows out there, Wendy says:

“I don’t hold back. I’m as comfortable talking to millions of people as I am sitting with you at my kitchen table.”

And when it comes to regretting things that she has done on air in the past, Wendy says that she doesn’t have any regrets but does steer clear of asking female guests whether or not they want to have children because she knows that can be a very sensitive subject based on what she went through with her own pregnancies:

“No. The only thing that’s off-limits for me is asking a woman why she doesn’t want kids. I’ve had a bunch of miscarriages, and I begged God for little Kevin. But it was a difficult pregnancy, not a joyful time for me. I’ve learned that it can be a very personal thing to ask someone about.”

Wendy Williams’ personality makes her stand out amongst the rest as she has a lot of it. And her stature does as well as Wendy stands 5’11 tall. And while Wendy is very confident in her height now, she says it hasn’t always been that way for her as being tall was something that she struggled with growing up:

“Not at all. When I was younger, I leaned on one hip to give the illusion that I was shorter. Now I feel my height is my best asset. I’m the first person you see in a room—especially when I wear five-inch heels!”

And as far as when she came into her own, Wendy says:

“After college, when I looked around and realized that all of the cool kids and pretty girls were back at the starting gate and I had taken off. I come from a working-class background, so I didn’t have time to waffle; in sixth grade I knew I wanted to be a newscaster or a radio personality. I had my first radio job two weeks out of college.”
