The Beyonce Blue Ivy in hot tub controversy begins. Beyonce might still be one of the most successful women in music, but with a high level of success and fame comes plenty of criticism. Simply put, Beyonce can’t seem to do much without getting slammed by her critics, and even her choice of attire for a concert seems to invoke such a passionate debate amongst society. The singer recently headlined the “Chime for Change” concert and feminists were angry Beyonce wore a leather leotard to perform at an event created to promote women empowerment.
And when it comes to her daughter Blue Ivy, when folks aren’t arguing over whether or not she used a surrogate, they are putting her skills as a mother under a microscope. What seemed like an innocent glimpse into Beyonce’s life through a photo has now become yet another controversy for Beyonce.
The singer posted a photo of her holding Blue Ivy lovingly in a hot tub, and it’s angered a lot of people considering mothers are warned against putting their babies in hot tubs because it can cause a lot of health problems and even death in some situations. Beyonce also got ripped to shreds in the comment sections on numerous sites as many called her out for not listening to the warnings about placing young children in hot tubs. Zap2it reports:
Beyonce set a terrible example for moms and babysitters everywhere by dragging her one-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, into a jacuzzi before subsequently posting a photo of the event to her official Tumblr page.
The “Run the World (Girls)” singer posted the black-and-white pic of herself sitting in a hot tub, clad in a swimsuit, sunglasses and turban while clutching her apparently sleeping infant daughter to her chest. The picture is drawing plenty of oohs, ahs and coos from Bey’s fan base, but one has to wonder what on earth this famous mom is doing taking her baby into a jacuzzi.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control warns, “Exclude children less than 5 years of age from using hot tubs.” And an article on the Livestrong website explains, “It’s dangerous to take your baby into the hot tub because of the heat. Your baby cannot regulate his body temperature well and can overheat in a hot tub quickly. Overheating can make him extremely uncomfortable and cause his heart to race. In some cases, overheating can cause death.”
A pediatrician also tells the website placing a young child in a hot tub is comparable to the dangers of leaving a chid unattended in a hot car:
“The risk in taking a baby, or even a young child, into a hot tub is that they are at high risk for hyperthermia — that is having their body temperature go up to a dangerous level. The water in a hot tub usually is between 100 and 104 degrees and our body temps are ideally at 98.6. Babies cannot control their internal temperatures when challenged like that … It is much too risky.”
While we understand the dangers mothers are warned against concerning putting their young children in hot tubs, we have to wonder if it’s fair for Beyonce to get slammed when crucial pieces of information such as what the actual temperature of the hot tub really was are missing. Who’s to say Beyonce didn’t have the hot tub turned down to a safe temperature for Blue Ivy?

Beyonce has proving time and time again that she can do whatever and mf’s are still going say oh Bey did nothing wrong, everybody is against her…blah, blah, blah…if its was a regular every day person that did this to her baby, the world would be against her right now, hell if it would have been Britany Spears everbody would be saying she tired to harm her baby

Mothers never get it 100% right all the time. No matter how hard we try, we make mistakes. Luckily, lil Miss Blue wasn’t hurt and perhaps B has learned something that she didn’t know before this incident.

I agree with you on the first part but I’m a mother and as a mother their sometimes that you would never do because you now it my harm your baby. In the hospital before leaving with your beautiful baby they warn you about the temperatures of taking a baby a bath, so this one is no excuse. When your mother, good mother your always thinking because protecting your baby is the only important thing in life

Only stupid and jealous people have a problem with this. The temperature can be adjusted idiots. And this little girl came out the womb with a better life than most. The people complaining cant even pay for their child’s education. Your beloved kids will struggle and be in debt for the rest of their lives while you talk about someone else’s parenting skills. Shut up. Good parenting is subjective. Bey works her butt off so her kid won’t have to ever struggle. Kudos to her!
The main ones with something to say aren’t good parents themselves. No parent is perfect. If you think you are, your kid knows the real story. People hate this woman because they wish they had her life and their misery shows in every comment they write on here and every dumb story they create about Beyonce. Get help miserable people. Beyonce is happy. There’s nothing you can say, write, or do to change that.

I’m not a fan of Beyonce, but this is ridiculous. Scrutiny of the rich and famous. At least she was holding her child. Not like some infamous moms not even near the child our watching over them. Some stuff i don’t agree with that she does but this was alright. That’s her baby.
