J. Cole might be projected to have major first week sales for his new album “Born Sinner,” but the Roc Nation artist wasn’t too happy that one of his fans threatened to kill his little sister all in the name of a retweet. As we reported recently, a fan tweeted J. Cole and demanded a retweet, and attached a picture of himself pointing a gun at his little sister. He told the rapper he would not only spare his little sister’s life if he got the retweet, but he would also buy the new album if his request was honored. J. Cole did the retweet, but not before the social network went crazy about the incident. Reports now claim the young man responsible for the controversy ended up getting investigated by police. TMZ reports:

A rep for the New Braunfels Police Department in Texas tells us, they have opened an investigation into the 19-year-old responsible for the tweet … after the picture (showing the fan aiming a gun at his sister’s face) was brought to their attention.

The rep says the teenager in question “is cooperating and it seems this was just a bad lapse in judgment.” Police say the gun in the picture is a BB gun, not an actual handgun.

The rep adds, “For now this is still an open investigation, and for the time being no charges are being filed.”

As for the teenager — we spoke to the kid, and he has profusely apologized for sending the message, telling us, “I’d like to apologize to America for the photo and to put J. Cole in that position. It was all a joke.”

The site also says the teenager claims his little sister was in on the joke and his mom promptly made him delete his Twitter account until he “fixed it.”

  1. I know his mom wanted to kill him. So much stupidity. People have allowed social media to make them complete fools.

  2. I really don’t believe his little sister was in on this. Her face looked like she was really in fear for her life. This 19 year old has a lot of growing up to do.

  3. Good! I was wondering why no one called the police. I know Twitter will give up IP addresses if the police ask for it.

  4. He got a ugly but cute look to EM BUT HE DO LOOk sNEAKY GET EM!!!!!!

That pic above makes him look even more guilty for watever he did
