Terrible Timing: Ciara Gets Served Lawsuit Papers During Performance

R&B singer Ciara may be all set to drop a new studio album in July, but the “Body Party” beauty continues to find herself in the middle of legal disputes. As we recently reported, Ciara was pretty much blamed by club owners after her boyfriend Future decided to not to show up allegedly to a club appearance, and although Ciara later claimed she had absolutely nothing to do with the incident, the club owner does plan to file a lawsuit against Future. However, it now appears that Ciara is the target of a lawsuit herself. And according to TMZ, she was actually served with the papers during a recent performance:

 

As TMZ first reported … Hit Factory, a popular West Hollywood club, sued the singer for bailing on a performance scheduled for Friday night. Ciara’s people maintain they informed the club she could not be there, but they continued to promote her appearance anyway.

Since the club people knew exactly where Ciara was going to be Saturday night, they sent their process server right up to the stage to hand her the papers … which she quickly tossed back.

 

Ciara’s camp has already claimed the lawsuit is a bogus one and her rep states Ciara pulled out of the scheduled performance early enough for the show planners to properly remove her from promotional material such as flyers. However, they did not and that’s on them. Let Ciara’s folks tell it, the lawsuit is very petty and uncalled for.

And serving her while she was in the middle of a performance seems pretty ratchet in our opinion. Either way, check out the video of Ciara be handed over the papers and quickly tossing them right back without missing one word of her hit song “Promise.”
