Was there a Jay-Z and Kanye West beef over Jigga’s new album “Magna Carta Holy Grail?” Jay-Z has proven he still has it when it comes to being one of rap’s top selling artists, and his first week sales are predicted to be over 400,000 copies despite Samsung giving away one million copies and the album already being certified platinum. Kanye dropped his latest album “Yeezus” and although the album landed the number one spot on the Billboard 200 its very first week, in the end the album would be outsold by J. Cole’s ‘Born Sinner” and not reach the success Kanye imagined for it.

Kanye himself has been silent on Jay-Z’s new album, but his own DJ had no problems taking to his Twitter account to slam the new record and claimed Kanye’s album is better than Jay-Z’s because it “pushes the envelope.”

Interestingly enough, Jay-Z admits in an interview that he and Kanye actually got into an argument over “Magna Carta Holy Grail.” The argument stemmed from Kanye telling Jay-Z he felt like some of the songs were better suited for the second installment of their “Watch the Throne” collaboration. Jay-Z tells BBC Radio 1:

“[There were] no lyrics on ‘Holy Grail’ and I recorded ‘Oceans’ and I played those records for Kanye and he was like, ‘no those have to go on Watch the Throne,’ so we spent four days arguing about those records and I was explaining to him why it wasn’t right for this project and I had a whole idea for making this album called Magna Carta… Holy Grail [part of] the name came after.”

Jay-Z also says the disagreement never became physical between them, although their own crews did get physical:

“…but four days literally arguing… not like fighting. Well, there was some pushing at one point but not between us, just everyone else got a little excited.”

  1. So in other words, Kanye and the rest of his queenish crew had a b-tch fit about nothing. Yeah, that sounds about right.

  2. This friendship won’t last because eventually Jay is going to stop wanting to be so politically correct and understanding of Kanye being a douche. His behavior has gotten out of control.

  3. Jay stop being this queen’s friend. You don’t have time for the drama he loves to create. He’s more catty than Beyonce I’m sure.

  4. I don’t even know how Kanye has friends, let alone a girlfriend. Wait, Kim’s desperate so that makes sense.

  5. Good luck with that Jay-Z. I wouldn’t deal with Kanye. It doesn’t take much for him to get “upset.”
