Timbaland talks about Aaliyah and Drake/Chris Brown tracks in a new interview? Super music producer Timbaland is known for cranking out some of music’s biggest hits, but many of us know him best for his legendary work with the late and great R&B singer Aaliyah. In fact, the chemistry between the two stars was very apparent considering they effortlessly made quality music each time they did collaborate in the studio. After Aaliyah’s shocking death, Timbaland later admitted he was actually in love with the singer but never acted on it because he was 7 years her senior. Besides the undeniable chemistry Timbaland had with the singer, he also believes he was Aaliyah’s musical soulmate. In a recent interview with Revolt TV, the producer claims he wishes Drake and Chris Brown didn’t record their Aaliyah featured singles and says it’s because no one can pull off a collaboration with Aaliyah except him:
“In music, people always say, ‘I’ma do a song with Aaliyah.’ It will never work. Chris Brown got a record; it won’t work. Drake could do a record with Aaliyah; it ain’t going to work. Aaliyah music only work with its soulmate, which is me. That’s why when Drake did ‘Started From The Bottom,’ it was a totally different sound and Drake told me, ‘I had to really battle with myself. I want to be the first person to change.’ So when he said that, it’s like, you’re going to be around for a long time. I talked to big brother Jay[-Z] and said, ‘Yo, we gotta embrace this young soldier. You got to embrace this guy. You got to put our arm around him and really like, try to add to the bloodline.”

Timbaland always sounds like a nut case when he talks about Aaliyah. He didn’t own her. His obsession with her is scary.

I won’t lie he made some bangers for Aaliyah but he shouldn’t tell these young artists that love her they can’t include her.
I agree he may be the best when it comes to using Aaliyah’s vocals but I still think he does the most. I kind of wish he would keep making great music and talk less.
Cosign. And he can’t really tell someone not to use Aaliyah’s vocals…that’s not his place.
Well, I actually like Chris Brown’s track with her sample on there…. *shrug*
