Shaunie O’Neal Defends Keeping Tami Roman on ‘Basketball Wives’

Why is Tami Roman on Basketball Wives for another season is the question some viewers have as season 5 of the reality TV show is right around the corner. The new season is said to be a very different one compared to past seasons of the show and the cast itself has gone through some interesting changes. Royce Reed announced her departure from the show awhile back via Twitter. Jennifer Williams, Kesha Nichols and Kenya Bell also got cut from the cast too. Once the cast was officially revamped and the members for season 5 of the show were revealed, viewers couldn’t seem to understand why Evelyn Lozada and Tami Roman didn’t get the axe. Shaunie O’Neal revealed the answer to that question in an interview she did with Sister 2 Sister Magazine and she says people can love or hate Tami but the show would be lacking and not nearly as entertaining to watch if she wasn’t a part of it:
“Well, Tami’s personality is …it’s incredible. You love her, hate her, whatever. You can’t live without some part of Tami on ‘Basketball Wives.’ She just brings so much to the show… There’s still something about her that drives you to watching.”
And although Jennifer Williams is no longer a “Basketball wife,” Shaunie hints that she would have liked to see Jennifer remain on the show:
“You have other people that situations made it bad and situations made your friendship different…[things] that are out of your control. I hate to see those moments happen. That’s not a great way to see somebody go. I wish some people could have stayed and made it work.”
What do you think about Shaunie O’Neal’s comments? Would the show be lacking if Tami Roman got shown the door?
