ASAP Rocky is enjoying his success as one of Hip Hop’s rising stars, and the rapper is learning first hand that with success comes lots of scrutiny. When people aren’t speculating on whether or not he is dating Rihanna and supermodel Chanel Iman at the same time, he’s also making headlines for saying some pretty controversial things. And because he stays in the media for what he’s saying in his interviews, it shouldn’t be hard to believe that he also finds himself in trouble for some of his recent behavior at his concerts.

As we reported recently, ASAP Rocky appeared to be seen on video slapping one of his female fans during his show, however nothing came from the alleged incident and it quickly went silent in the media. Interestingly enough, ASAP is being accused of once again of slapping one of his female fans, and this time the alleged incident isn’t going quietly away. Not only was ASAP charged with assault after the young woman decided to press charges, but now it appears the alleged incident may be costing him shows too.

ASAP was booked to perform at the YorkFest Concert in Canada on September 18, but it appears the performance has been cancelled by the event’s organizers because of his recent assault charge. On the event’s website, the organizers write the following statement:

The A$AP Rocky performance at the YorkFest Concert, scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 18, has been cancelled after the York Federation of Students Board of Directors learned of allegations of an assault against a woman that are currently before a U.S. court. The Board of Directors has decided that this event cannot proceed until this matter is resolved. This decision should not be construed as suggesting that the YFS has any knowledge of the incident, or has a view on the innocence or guilt of the artist.

The cancellation of an event, which has been painstakingly planned for months, is a difficult decision for the YFS. We apologize to our members who planned to attend the event and are trying to organize another concert for next week. We invite you to the many events planned for YorkFest this year.

ASAP’s camp hasn’t commented on the decision as of yet.

  1. What in the world does Chanel Iman see in this fool? I just don’t get it. He’s not attractive, he’s homophobic (probably gay), and thinks it’s okay to assault women.

  2. It’s crazy how under the radar this is considering this dude has assaulted a woman like THREE times already, and Chris Brown can’t convince people to move on from the ONE time he did it. Crazy…

    1. THANK YOU!! I swear people want to make Chris the example but what about Terrance Howard, Charlie Sheen and I just can’t think of that country singer who busted out his wife front teeth. Now ASAP hitting women left to right.

  3. Good, it’s about time for people to stop being so biased when it comes to situations like these. Something should have been done long ago.
