Last night was a big moment for legendary girl group TLC and VH1, as the network premiered the biopic for the group that left the kind of impact on R&B music that surely inspired most of today’s biggest stars in music. Initially, TLC fans were not too thrilled about the casting choices, as it was confirmed rapper Lil Mama would portray Left Eye, the group’s rapper. T-Boz and Chilli made it clear that they stood by the young ladies who were chosen to play them on the small screen, and we have to say when we saw Lil Mama (Left Eye), Drew Sidora (T-Boz) and Keke Palmer dressed up for their parts for the first time, they nailed it. But we weren’t sure if there on spot resemblance to the singers would translate into good acting.

However, the whole staff agrees each actress did a wonderful job and the movie was pretty awesome. We do have to admit Lil Mama was the standout star and she did steal the show so much so that as a huge TLC fan growing up and Atlanta/Decatur girl, sometimes I felt like I was watching Left Eye again.

But we do have to wonder what you guys thought of the movie and we do wonder if you felt the network did the group justice with its production.

So it’s time for another discussion. Did you like “CrazySexyCool?” Do you feel the actresses did the group justice? Or did you walk away disappointed? Vote and leave your thoughts below.

  1. They all did a great job on some parts I was tearing up but I’m a crybaby but that casting was great. The acting was great I felt like they was really TLC. People need to forgive lil mama now because she was the breakout star lol. I give an A++. Pebbles was the devil lol

    1. Yes lol how TLC have a platinum record and you giving them Rav-4. She got dragged on twitter last night rightfully so too.

  2. I thought the acting was terrible. Lil Mama did god though. But I feel like TLC could have had a movie in the theaters. They could have done better than VH1.

  3. It was nicely done. I enjoyed it and I even woke up this morning listening to TLC. It’s crazy how much success they had without being naked. I love that they always song about women standing up for themselves and loving ourselves and they could do it with clothes on. I miss that. I really do.

    1. I agree. They were fully clothed and still managed to be sexy and confident. These young girls don’t know nothing about that. They are too busy showing their tits on Twitter on Tuesdays.

  4. It is so messed up how Pebbles and LA Reid did those girls. But it just shows you a record deal and platinum albums doesn’t mean you have money. Contracts can make or break you.

  5. I liked it. Yeah some of the acting was questionable, but as a whole I enjoyed it. I wasn’t expecting oscar material but Lil Mama killed her part.

  6. Their story needs to be a lesson to these artists about how important it is to read contracts before you sign. But then again, Cash Money is sill in business.

  7. I loved this Movie! I wish it would have went to the theater though. They deserve the silver screen for their story. They still could do it because the tv movie did not go into all the problems left eye and Andre Risen where having and it did not go into the whole Mac 10 and Tionne issues either. Lil Mama, without a doubt killed the Left Eye roll. She nailed it! For a minute I thought it was Lisa! Kudos to Lil Mama! Girl might be on to some more roles because she just slayed!

  8. I loved it!!!!! At certain points the acting kind of got a side-eye from me, BUT my love for the group outweighed that which made me thoroughly enjoy this movie. I totally cried at the end. That song paired with the flashbacks of them was just so nostalgic AND saddening at the thought of Lisa’s passing. Overall, GREAT JOB!!!!!

  9. loved the movie but sometimes the acting and their accents were a little comedy to me like with the lawyer i know that scene was probably meant to be taken seriously but the way he acted and how they asked about the car it was funny but overall i liked it i wished lisa was alive to have some in put. And i wish they would’ve added more of they life like chilli with usher lisa and her beliefs that girls shouldn’t cheat to get back at their boyfriends is why she wanted to wear the tape over her mouth and instead just leave the cheating boyfriend alot of things was missed on lisa life i think they made it about the jungle and her drinking and daddy problems. But good overall
