Drake and Future beef in the works? Drake may be resting comfortably on top of the Hip Hop game considering he along with Jay Z seem to be the only artists pushing massive album sales these days, and his whole goal to surpass Kanye is coming to a realization since he has outsold the total sales of “Yeezus” with his first week sales for “Nothing Was the Same.” The album sold around 659,000 copies alone in its first week, and now it’s not far from being certified platinum and should achieve that in a couple of weeks at this rate. Although Drake is pushing stellar numbers and his current hit single “Hold On” went platinum, Future made some interesting comments in a recent interview with Billboard that sounded like shade towards Drake’s new album. Future told the publication:

“Drake made an album that is full of hits but it doesn’t grab you. They’re not possessive; they don’t make you feel the way I do. I want to make you want to fall in love.”

Although Future quickly took to his Twitter account to claim that he didn’t make the comment and he was actually misquoted, it appears his comments may have gotten him kicked off Drake’s tour. According to the New York Post via Page Six, Drake was furious when he got wind of Future’s comments. In fact, the publication is reporting that Drake demanded Future be kicked off the tour and he threatened to walk if he wasn’t replaced.

Future’s camp was able to calm Drake’s camp down a little and both camps had a meeting last week to bring Future back, but Drake decided to play hardball and stated he’d only invite him back if he took a massive pay cut. Apparently Future felt like it was a dirty move by Drake and his people claim he’s in the process of suing the “Nothing Was the Same” rapper for $1.5 million. Future’s camp claims that’s how much he will lose for not being on the tour.

Future is expected to officially file the suit sometime this week.

While neither rapper has responded to the report as of yet, Drake’s alleged reaction to Future’s comments sound a lot like his recent response to Kendrick Lamar’s control verse. A few weeks ago Drake claimed that he is no longer interested in doing anymore music with the Compton emcee as a result of the verse, in which Kendrick responded and called him “sensitive” during his cypher at the BET Hip Hop Awards.

  1. Wow. That was very diva of Drake. Future only said he feels like his music grabs people more (I disagree of course) and of course Drake overacts. Smh.

  2. Drake is a sensitive dude I know, but Future talks too damn much. All he does in his interviews is talk about how much better he is than everyone he’s worked with. After a while it gets annoying and burns bridges. Shut up and let your music speak for itself for a change.

    1. I have to agree here because Future does that all the time. It’s like he doesn’t feel he gets enough credit or something. He’s too new in the game and hasn’t contributed enough to talk the way he does. Now Kanye can do that and we get it. Kanye’s music resume reads like someone who has earned the right to have confidence. Future needs to be quiet. His music isn’t as great as he thinks it is.

  3. When trying to so call keep it real goes wrong bhahahahahaha! That’s what Future gets. Everybody knows Drake is sensitive but I can’t blame Drake on this one I wouldn’t take someone on tour with me either who trying to clown me either.

  4. LOL now this is hilarious. Future is new to the business, but he better learn how to keep his mouth shut. He’s a small fish in a big pond and this tour was the exposure he needed. Oh well. Better luck next time.

  5. lol Drake is being a overly sensitive, but Future is stupid too. If you know you’re going on a tour with Drake where you stand to make 1.5 million why are you throwing shade to the album period. Just say you like it even if you didn’t. Future just learned what happens when keeping it real goes wrong…

  6. Ciara better come get her man and tell him to stop talking himself up in interviews when he’s still not a big artist.

  7. I don’t blame Drake on this one because it was a bad move to make when you’re about to go on the tour with the person. Future is not a smart dude. He needs to stop shading the people he’s working with. After a while, people will stop dealing with you.

  8. LOL yeah this is definitely a situation where keeping it real goes all the way wrong. Side note, I miss Dave Chappelle!

  9. That’s what he gets! He talks like he makes classic music and it’s far from that! Truth be told I’m jamming to Drake daily and don’t own a thing from Future. He needs to have a stadium of seats since he won’t be performing in the stadium now. LOL.

  10. You never come for the bigger star when your light is just starting to shine. It’s like when Keri came for Bey. Look how that ended up for her. I think the same thing will happen to Kendrick too.

  11. I don’t see how this is sensitivity on Drake’s part. Drake did exactly the right thing. Future was disrespectful. Period. This is just another case of Future giving away money again. smh. Drake did absolutely nothing wrong here.
