Kerry Washington Makes Forbes List for Highest Paid TV Actresses & Nabs SNL Hosting Gig

Kerry Washington makes Forbes list for role in “Scandal?” Actress Kerry Washington is clearly living the fabulous life right about now. It was revealed not too long ago that the actress got secretly hitched to NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha. There has also been some excited speculation about the possibility of Kerry being pregnant. While everything is going well in her personal life, Kerry’s career is continuing to bring about notable recognition for the actress. Kerry Washington captured the attention of movie goers with her intense role in “Django Unchained” however her role as Olivia Pope in ABC’s hit drama series “Scandal” has been deemed as one of her best yet as the show has become one of the most jaw-dropping sources of entertainment on Thursday nights.

Despite critics’ opinions of the show, “Scandal” fanatics all over the globe were elated over the show’s return as the ratings were through the roof for season three’s premiere episode. Kerry’s historical role in “Scandal” has led to the actress receiving her first Emmy nomination and landed her a spot on Forbes’ “Highest Paid TV Actresses of 2013” list. Kerry came in at number 20 on the list earning $3 million from her role on “Scandal.”

To add to Kerry’s good news, the actress will be hosting “Saturday Night Live” for the first time on November 2nd. Singer Janelle Monae will also make her music debut on SNL on October 26 right before Kerry’s appearance as a way to add more diversity to the show amid criticism the late-night comedy show is getting over the lack of African-American female comedians on their cast.

      1. They go crazy on my Facebook too. I have never seen a show get that kind of reaction from people on my social media accounts. That’s a good sign that the show is doing well as far as ratings are concerned.

    1. I agree. We have come a long way but we have way more work to do. We have to get black women dong more shows than that reality TV garbage.

    1. Gabby could NEVER. She can only play one role and that is the neck rolling, slick talking, stereotypical angry black woman. She is very overrated. Nothing but looks.

      1. I agree. I don’t think she’s an actress that has range. And I think that’s what hurt her, not the whole homewrecker thing. Why pick Gabby for a role when you can get Keri, Viola and other stronger black actresses?

  1. She made Forbes and she’s hosting SNL? That’s a huge deal for black women! We don’t usually get these kinds of opportunities so congrats to her.
