Mary J. Blige talks about her husband Kendu Isaacs in recent interview? Mary J. Blige gained the label as “The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul” as the singer has a very impressive catalog of music to show for. However, Mary’s rocky experiences in her relationships served as the fuel for many of  her classic songs. Mary’s public relationship with 90’s group Jodeci member K-Ci Hailey started off on a high note and reached the point of engagement but turned very ugly leading the couple to call it quits. After her rocky union with K-Ci, Mary later found a new love with her now husband and manager Kendu Isaacs.

While many of her loyal fans seem to believe Kendu Isaacs has a lot to do with why Mary’s money is looking funny, the singer feels her husband is the one she is truly meant to be with. During her recent appearance on “The Queen Latifah Show,” Mary chatted with Queen Latifah about her marriage to Kendu and when asked why she ended up marrying him, Mary says it’s because he was willing to tell her the truth and help her during her hard times when no one else would:

“Well because Kendu…I didn’t sense any fake or energy that was afraid of me. I mean like not afraid of me like he would hurt me in some way but he wasn’t afraid to do what everybody else was afraid to do which was tell me the truth. And you know, help me. Give me the information that I needed so bad when I was dying from alcohol you know? He came at the right time and he came when I was ready to change, right then.”

  1. Yeah but how’s your career coming along now boo? You need to get a new manager and just let him go back to being your spouse. Sometimes we can’t do business with our spouses.

  2. I love Mary but it just seems like Kendu is an opportunist who doesn’t know how to manage Mary. But oh well. She’s grown and she has to make her own choices like everyone else.

    1. I completely agree I can’t put my finger on what exactly it is but its something that just rubs me the wrong way.

  3. That’s cool and all but is she getting her career back on track? It ain’t been the same since Crispy Chicken.

  4. I don’t know how I feel about this because she was a broken woman and really needed to go to counseling and address her demons. Why did it have to take Kendu for her to address her issues. But that’s her husband he just seem a little to slick for me.
