Nicki Minaj has managed to shake up the female rapper game and achieved monster success in the few years she’s been in the business, and it’s clear that the Young Money Records star has plans of domination outside of music. Nicki recently launched her own fashion line with Kmart and has had successful fragrances to boot, all while she manages to record platinum albums. However, Nicki revealed in a recent interview several months ago that her main objective is to become the female Jay Z. And to do that, she feels she needs to launch even more successful business ventures.

Despite Nicki’s honorable aspirations, it’s been pretty obvious that she isn’t necessarily popular with some of the other female rappers, and her biggest nemesis to date is a rap legend herself: Lil Kim. Kim feels Nicki completely ripped her Barbie persona and made a fortune off her image. Nicki recently revealed she was ready to squash the beef though, but Kim isn’t interested. However, female rap legend Queen Latifah has no problems with Nicki and even invited her to her new hit talk show, “The Queen Latifah Show.”

While many have slammed Nicki and accused her of not paying homage to the great female rappers that came before her, Nicki actually took a moment to tell Queen Latifah how much she inspired her after Queen revealed that having Nicki on the show is a big moment for her. In the sneak peek of the upcoming episode, Queen says:

“I’m sitting here with a female rapper on a talk show started by a female rapper. This is a moment for me.

“It really is a full circle moment for me because I probably never envisioned this. Did you think of something like this?”

Nicki says:

“Absolutely. And you’ve opened so many doors for me and so many other women and it’s insane cause I always reference you when I talk about female rappers who’ve kind of paved the way in terms of a business woman and mogul and just all around entertainer. And to be sitting here doing your show, it’s just a great moment for Hip Hop. So thank you for having me.”

The full episode airs October 22. Check out the clip below:

  1. Nicki could learn a lot from the Queen. For one, she doesn’t have to show her breasts on Instagram when she wants attention.

    1. I won’t even lie. I was disappointed by that but she’s done it before. So I’m not sure why people made such a big deal out of this time.

  2. Maybe it’s just me but why is everyone so down on Nicki when it comes to paying homage. Like seriously no other new female rapper came and paid homage like they want Nicki to. I don’t see Iggy Azalea, Azalea Banks or any other new female rapper giving homage. Why don’t anybody get on them. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong I don’t remember Trina paying homage when she came out for example. I personally think because Nicki got famous and successful so quick and she was cocky and plus she can be annoying as hell people took it as not paying homage. But she needs to pay homage to Lil’Kim because she ripped her entire style in the beginning no denying that. I’m not a Nicki stan at all but I give credit where credit is due she took advantage of an open female rapper lane where nobody was flourishing and she made it her own.

  3. I don’t like the fact that she took so many shots at other female rappers when she was trying to get on. Before her, female rappers used to collaborate on tracks together and there was this kind of unity. Remember Ladies Night? Well those kinds of songs aren’t’ happening anymore because Nicki started off being so controversial. She burned bridges before she blew up and most people won’t forget that. She’s the only female rapper that started her career off that way and it’s put a huge dent in the game. Now these new female rappers after her are just as clueless.

  4. This is the same chick that told all the female rappers that came before her to thank her. Bish please. She’s just as fake as they come.

  5. I guess. It’s hard to forget all the shade she threw all the female rappers at the beginning of her career though.

  6. I am not a big Nicki fan however she must be doing something right to stay at the top of the female rappers game. Queen Latifah is from a era I miss when most female rapper compacted the music industry and had something positive to say.
