Traci Steele and DJ Babey Drew fired from Love and Hip Hop Atlanta? When it comes to the popularity of VH1’s smash hit “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta,” it’s clear the show is so successful because of its controversial cast. With the ridiculous antics of show favorites Stevie J. and Joseline Hernandez,  the show took off instantly after the first episode alone. Then of course the major story line became the “love triangle” between Stevie, Joseline and Mimi Faust; and by season two Lil Scrappy and Erica Dixon easily stole the show with their drama, as well as Rasheeda and Kirk’s Frost explosive marriage problems. It’s been rumored that not everyone would get an invite back for season three, and although reports were originally suggesting that Scrappy and Erica were getting the boot because their story had run its course, it turns out the real on and off couple that got the boot is Traci Steele and DJ Babey Drew. Traci tells Bossip they were fired and they were let go by the producers because they didn’t “turn up” enough:

“Am I doing the next season of “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta?” No. I might do some appearances, I might show my face or DJ but as far as being a cast member, no. I didn’t choose. Apparently me and Drew weren’t as turnt up I guess as the rest of the cast members. We had some sanity, some but not all. We were a little bit more relaxed and more grounded I think. A lot of people come up to me and say ‘You had the most class out of everybody else.’ Well class don’t cut it on “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta.”

“So in order for me and Drew to be on television, we just have to do our own show. But I loved the experience.

“If I’m going to be rejected, I’d rather be rejected for not acting like an a*shole than anything else. I didn’t turn up like they wanted me to.”

  1. That’s the thing though. If you want to do these VH1 shows, you have to whore yourself out. You have to become a sellout. If not, you won’t last more than one season. They believe people want trashy TV. I think that’s not the whole truth because the scripted shows still get way more ratings.

  2. Oh wow. That’s messed up. Well at least she doesn’t have to walk around embarrassed by how she acted on TV. Most people can’t do that.

  3. And this is why Rasheeda and Kirk faked their whole story line in season two. They knew they were about to get fired. Crazy.

  4. Why am I not surprised? Mona ain’t innocent. She will do whatever it takes to get those ratings. That’s why birds like Erica Mena will never get fired.

  5. I honestly thought they were boring. It’s not that they didn’t fight enough, but who wanted to see them be all dramatic every scene about a breakup that happened like 5 years ago?

  6. It’s for the best. No need in being on a show that doesn’t fit the real you. All these people will only be famous for 15 minutes anyway. No need to sell out for 15 minutes.

  7. it’s a blessing. Everyone else will eventually regret what they did on this show when they try to pursue real careers. This crap follows you.

  8. It really comes down to the fans……If the number’s indicate that people want RATCHET that is what they gonna get. Which makes 1 wonder, what kind of nation r we when shows like this is what so many of us r watching.
