Ne-Yo Talks Mariah Carey’s Gangsta Side, Envying Beyonce & Being Close to Rihanna

Ne-Yo joined the trend of celebrities stopping by the “Bethenny” show, and the songwriter and R&B singer opened up about what it’s like to work with some of music’s biggest divas. When asked by the talk show host what it’s like to work with Mariah Carey, Beyonce and Rihanna behind the scenes, Ne-Yo didn’t hold back and dished his feelings. He revealed that Mariah has somewhat of a gangsta side despite being so prissy and glamorous. He also explained that as much as he loves Beyonce, her ability to seem perfect all the time kind of drives him nuts and he revealed that he’s extremely close to Rihanna. Here are the highlights of the interview.

On Mariah having a gangsta side:

“Mariah is very prim and very put together but if you cross her she will punch you in the face. She’s tough. Those pink kitten slippers will be in your mouth.”

 

On Beyonce being perfect and why it makes him envious at times:

“Beyonce is for lack of a better word is d*mn perfect and I hate her for it. But she’s a girl that can do everything. I really feel like if there was a bomb in the building, Beyonce would bust out of somewhere and defuse the bomb. That’s who Beyonce is. There’s nothing she can’t do.”

 

He even revealed that he feels the closest to Rihanna out of all the artists he’s worked with:

“Of everybody, I’m the closest to Rihanna. She’s like my little sister. She’s one of the few people on the face of the planet that can talk about the size of my head and get away with it.”
