NeNe Leakes money problems on the rise? “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star NeNe Leakes loves to remind people of how “rich” she is but could it be possible that the RHOA head honcho could be having some money problems? According to new reports, NeNe may have just been slapped with a hefty tax lien. Hip Hop Daily Press obtained court documents from the state of California showing that the reality star owes thousands in taxes and she was recently hit wit a $25,212 tax lien in July.
According to the documents, the tax lien was placed on NeNe’s pizza restaurant Famous Famiglia.
And if that’s not enough, her hubby Gregg Leakes is also in lots of debt. The site obtained court documents in Georgia that show he owes the state and the IRS a combined debt of $130,000.
A federal tax lien was placed on Gregg back in October of 2005 for $88,334 and a lien from the state was issued back in December of 2012 for $45,752.
Regardless of the debt these two reportedly owe, it’s possible they won’t have debt for much longer since NeNe just announced that she’s launching her own fashion line for curvy women via her Twitter account and they just got paid handsomely by Bravo to film their wedding and the drama that led up to the big day in “I Dream of NeNe.”
Uh oh. She better pay those taxes if she wants to stay “rich.”
What is up with celebs not paying their taxes? Sheesh.
Sense of entitlement.
This is why people need to stop fronting for strangers. Just pay your bills and don’t try to outsmart the IRS.

Well maybe that 15 carat ring money should have been spent on paying debt. #shrugs
But she was just on Twitter bragging about her 15 carat ring. Oh…
Well we know celebrities hate paying taxes. Nothing new.
Oh wow. Well hopefully she will handle all this soon. It’s not a good look to let debt pile up. Famous or not!
NeNe tries to hard and she’ll be broke in 5 years if she doesn’t watch it. People think money can’t run out when they get a taste of it. And that is so not true.
Mo money, mo problems.
She better smarten up. It kills me how ignorant celebs are with their money. They rather spend most of it to look richer than they really are. That’s why so many of them end up broke.
Sounds like NeNe’s restaurant isn’t doing well…and Gregg has had that debt for years. They should really start putting more effort into paying off debt instead of splurging so much. But whatever. It’s their money.
She doesn’t have a viable vehicle. She’s not really taking advantage of this opportunity with an eye to the long term. Maybe this clothing line will be a vehicle for her but I doubt it. Simply put, she needs to develop a vehicle independent of her.
