There’s been rumors for weeks that Kanye West was having troubles with ticket sales for his Yeezus tour, but we found that hard to believe considering that Kanye is one of the biggest names in music. The rapper and producer also knows how to keep his name in the headlines and his high-profile relationship with Kim Kardashian seems to have secured his spot in the tabloids too. However, just a few weeks after Kanye resumed the tour after postponing it due to technical difficulties, it’s now been confirmed on two occasions that the numbers of those in attendance at his last couple of shows were extremely low for someone of Kanye’s stardom.

According to the Kansas City Star, Kanye’s show at the Sprint Center the other day only brought out a disappointing 4,500 concertgoers. Interestingly enough, the Sprint Center holds about 19,000 people and the publication says its shocked that Kanye didn’t have a bigger crowd. The show got great reviews, but people are puzzled as to why more people didn’t come out. Kanye has sold out at the same location reportedly when he toured with Jay Z and Drake had no problem selling out there solo as well.

And before Kanye performed for a small crowd in Kansas City, he also preformed for a small crowd of 7,408 in Tampa. This is the same show he ended up storming off the stage during after he had issues with his stage crew that were eventually resolved in minutes.

Some folks are wondering if Kanye may not be selling as many tickets because of his rants and controversial interviews. But we’re thinking ticket prices could be a factor.

  1. Kanye’s fans are making every excuse for why only a few thousand came to see him perform at an arena that holds 19,000. But why couldn’t they have been that dedicated and came out to the show?

  2. People are tired of Kanye. He’s had his time. Now it’s all about Drake. I would go see Drake before I would see Kanye because I don’t like Kanye’s new music and I don’t feel like hearing him rant of stupid sh-t like fashion and nike.

  3. Embarrassing. I don’t know if we can say it’s all Kanye though. I haven’t even seen much promotion for the tour where I live.

  4. People are over Kanye. Too much ranting and talking about Kim has made him lose his appeal. He should easily be selling out arenas at this point of his career.

  5. Rihanna is selling out arenas easy, so Kanye should be doing the same. They are both very big stars. I hate to say but I think Kanye’s star is fading. I never thought I would read about him struggling to sell tickets to his concerts.

  6. I think people are over him ranting and talking about his rich man problems all day long. And the last album wasn’t very good either.

  7. Not surprised at all…folks r sick of his b/s….I personally wouldn’t go to his show on a free ticket….
