Tia Mowry’s career continues to flourish as she has a hit show on Nickelodeon entitled “Instant Mom,” not to mention her reality show with her twin sister Tamera is still very much a success, and the sisters are also dabbling in entrepreneurship these days too.

Tia nabbed the cover of the latest issue of Rolling Out Magazine and she looks absolutely stunning. Check out the spread below (Photo Credit: Jason Clark):

Here are the highlights of the interview.

On why she was excited about the success of her show “Instant Mom”:

“What attracted me to the role in the script was I felt that there was a void. [There was] a lack of programming that families could sit down and watch. Right now, you see television shows that are predominantly focused on kids that adults can’t watch or shows for adults that kids can’t watch. It kinda causes this division within the family when you’re talking about sitting down and watching television as a family. This did remind me of those times when we would sit down as a family and watch the ‘The Cosby Show’ and ‘Family Matters.’ I have to credit Nickelodeon for allowing diversity. And with that said, this isn’t a show that’s just for African Americans. This is a show that sees no color and that’s what reminded me of ‘Sister, Sister.’ It was universal. It was a show about a black family that black families could relate to, but not only black families — all families. I think that’s what makes a smart show because that’s what the world is. We’re constantly interacting with different cultures and different races. Isn’t television supposed to depict reality? I felt very privileged and excited to be a part of a show that shows African Americans in a positive life, in a healthy relatable light, and smart kids. I thank Nickelodeon for allowing that platform.”

On dealing with public scrutiny at the hands of her hit reality show with Tamera:

“I don’t necessarily focus on misconceptions that the public has of me. I live my life for myself and my family. I don’t allow other people’s opinions and perceptions of me to validate who I am, but when you do a reality show, such as ‘Tia & Tamera,’ I think though it is a reality show, it’s still television. It’s still a show. I am allowing cameras to come in and see my life, but it’s just a window of my life. It’s not my life. So when people make judgments based off of what they see on television, I think that’s unhealthy.”

  1. I really respect that she actually takes the responsibility and says she wants to put positive images of African Americans out there. So many times celebs say they aren’t trying to be role models or represent the entire race and here you have Tia wanting to do it. I love it.

  2. She looks very pretty. I’m always happy to see black women with good heads on their shoulders who don’t allow fame to turn them into fools.

  3. People judge her for the reality show? I thought it was a positive and cute show. I don’t see how anyone can take anything negative away from it.
