If you watched The Grammys last night, then you saw music’s biggest couple Jay Z and Beyonce open up the show with a live rendition of “Drunk in Love.”

Beyonce did something different and decided to take the stage without dancers and choreography and instead got her sexy on in a chair, and she even rocked her short hair look similar to the one she rocked in the music video for the hit single.

Of course the couple had their steamy moments together on the stage as Bey seductively danced with her man as he rapped his verse, but most people are talking more about Jay Z’s sweet acceptance speech than their actual performance.

Jay Z won Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for his collaboration with Justin Timberlake, “Holy Grail”, and he actually took the stage to thank God for his wife. He says:

“I want to thank God, I mean a little bit for this award, but mostly for that and all the universes for conspiring and putting that beautiful light of a young woman in my life,” he said. And before we could get over how sweet that was, Jay Z gave a shot-out to his little daughter.”

And of course he has some words for their adorable daughter Blue Ivy:

“And I want to tell Blue that look, Daddy got a gold sippy cup for you!”

Check out their performance below in addition to the rest of our favorites from last night’s Grammy Awards:

  1. I honestly thought Bey and Jay’s whole interaction with each other last night was sweet. There were moments where they were just sitting the audience and Jay was just snuggling on her. Her performance didn’t blow me away, but I was happy to see them together and she looks so beautiful and happy. I love the Carters.

And side note, Kendrick Lamar was robbed just like I knew he would be. Smh.

    1. But did you see Macklemore’s IG page lately? That fool actually posted the text message he sent Kendrick where he was saying he felt bad that he robbed him of those awards. I can’t stand that dude.

      1. Macklemore is a fraud. I don’t think he’s really hurting all that much about getting all those awards over Kendrick. That’s damage control and nothing more. All I can say is we will see who will still be hot in a few years.

        1. I don’t think he’s being genuine either! And why post that private text on Instagram unless you’re looking for attention or a pat on the back?!

  2. Beyonce looked gorgeous. Her body is on point and she makes me want to get my body tight for the spring. I still think she should have performed XO or maybe even Pretty Hurts but whatever.

  3. I love them. You can always tell that they really love each other and they love their daughter. As busy as they are, they almost always have that little girl with them. That is so rare in Hollywood.

  4. Beyonce gave no f-cks last night and I loved it! She said I’m just going to dance with my man and y’all will deal! lol

  5. I love Beyonce and Jay Z’s performance but I’m really blown about Kendrick Lamar getting not one award last night. And for Macklemore to get everything in the rap categories is so ridiculous. I’m getting to the point that I don’t even want to watch the Grammys anymore.

    1. Deep down inside we all knew that was going to happen. That happens every time a white artist is placed in a category where they do not belong. Macklemore is not Hip Hop, hell not even rap. He’s Pop and had no business being in the rap categories. J Cole should have been in his spot and Kendrick should have won Best Rap album.

    2. Last night was a reminder of why I hadn’t watched the Grammys in years. Macklemore deserved nothing let alone to be nominated in the Rap categories.

  6. Black people need to boycott the Grammys. So many black artists were robbed last night. Tamar, Fantasia, hell why wasn’t J Cole nominated for anything when he had one of the best rap albums of the year! Until we stop supporting this trash a-s award show nothing will ever change.

    1. You’re right but I doubt that will ever happen. The artists need to be the ones to lead the movement and stop showing up.

      1. I do agree that the artists should be the first ones to make a stand but we have to do our parts too and stop watching. Things will never change unless we stop supporting it.

  7. I watched Jayonce performed and changed it back to RHOA right after. I knew Kendrick wouldn’t win anything so I didn’t even play myself. Grammys has always been bs.

    1. I second this. I was done after Bey walked off the stage. I feel bad for Kendrick but I won’t lie and say I expected him to win anything with Macklemore being nominated for everything. Kendrick had the best rap album period.

  8. Beyonce and Jay Z made my night I love the performance and that was so sweet of Jay to say. I didn’t watch the rest and I’m reading and can’t believe Kendrick didn’t get a award. If it wasn’t for Bey and Jay I would have skipped the Grammy’s again.
