Mendeecees out of prison? There’s been rumors circulating for months suggesting Yandy Smith’s fiancé Mendeecees Harris had been sentenced to 15 years in prison for federal drug charges. However, Yandy has taken to her Twitter account on multiple occasions to dismiss the gossip. Interestingly enough, we told you rumors claimed that sometime during the reunion that a special guest came on the stage during taping in epic form. And we also told you we had a strange feeling that person was Mendeecess Harris. Part two of the reunion airs next Monday, so we will see just who the surprise guest is soon or if the tea was true.

But in the meantime, a new report from Uptown Magazine has us suspicious once again. The publication did some digging to investigate the status of Mendeecees’ time in prison, and found out that there are no dockets that even back up that he is still in federal custody:

But where do things stand with Mendeecees’ case? Apparently as of November 2013, no public docket entries have been made by the Court Clerk. Both the Bureau of Prisons and Harris’ attorney report that Mendeecees is currently not in federal custody, but do not offer any additional information or comment. The most recent activity in Mendeecees’ case was an order requiring the parties to inform the Court by November 15, 2013 as to whether the defendant would be requesting that infamous detention hearing. Curiously, no public filings appear on record thereafter.

If a detention hearing is eventually scheduled and held, the Court will hear testimony and determine whether there is probable cause that Harris committed the alleged offenses. If so, the judge must then decide whether any conditions of release would adequately ensure that the defendant is not a risk of flight or a danger to the community. However, with confirmation that Mendeecees is currently not in federal custody and no recent court filings, there is a likelihood that the case has already been resolved and the details of that resolution are sealed.

So where is Mendeecees? Of course this doesn’t give us a definite answer just yet, but it’s interesting to say the least. It’s been confirmed that Mendeecees is not in federal custody anymore, but none of his loved ones or friends are talking. In fact, Uptown seems to think all of this means he is a free man.

We’ll keep our eyes open for any updates.

  1. Wow. Yeah I’m thinking he’s free too and they are keeping quiet because he pops up at the reunion. Hmm…

  2. Looks like he did get out. But this means everyone is going to be calling him a snitch. He will never hear the end of it.

    1. Ok. This is what bothers me. So if a man gets a chance to get out of jail and be with his kids, he should pass that up to stay loyal to some thug? Please explain how that makes any sense. Street loyalty is so overrated.

      1. I actually think it’s kind of homo (no offense) for men to put these dudes before their woman and kids. I’d snitch like hell and not give two sh-ts about it. I’m only loyal to my family. F-ck everyone else.

  3. If he is free I hope his little ghetto a-s doesn’t go back to trying to be in those streets. He has kids to take care of.

  4. He had to snitch. He was in the pen for FEDERAL drug charges. The only way you get out of that is snitching!

  5. I think he got out. I knew something was up when they kept saying he was sentenced but no one had anymore details. They probably struck a deal and he’s out and for his protection things were sealed. I just hope he stays put of trouble now and does right by his kids.

  6. It looks like he got out. And I’m not here for the snitching BS. I don’t care. If he’s home with his kids, good for him. How he got there doesn’t matter.

  7. I hope he is really finally our for the sake of his kids, Yandy, & his self. Pray to God he don’t choose to go down this road again, because then it shows he’ll never change & Yandy would have been doing all this waiting for nothing.

It also amazes me that so many of you are hollering “snitch”, women at that. What if this was your man, y’all had kids, and where in the middle of planning a wedding. What would you have wanted him to do? Protect his boys or come home so your family could be whole again? Smh, God be with y’all.
