The very gorgeous Rihanna landed yet another Vogue cover, and the Bajan beauty is once again getting completely honest in her interview. Not too long after the singer admitted she can understand why people may get the impression that she drinks and parties a lot, she’s also admitting now to Vogue that she feels there are more talented singers out here, but her voice isn’t why she’s a star.

Rihanna says:

“It’s not all down to my voice. There’s people with way more talent than I when it comes to singing. Bigger voices. But people want to know who you are. Fashion is a clear indication, a way to express your attitude, your mood.”

And Rihanna also did one of the realest things ever when the topic of her hair came up:

“It’s not my hair, but the girl who donated it, she’s the bomb,” says Rihanna. “Black girls never let anyone see this,” she adds, pulling apart the locks at the back of her head to show me the intricate workings of the false hair, which is woven into a net attached to her own. “I have two main hair people I work with. They’re always with me. I’m like, ‘I’m bored! I wanna change my hair!’ That’s the good thing about a weave. You can do whatever with it.”

We just have to respect Rihanna’s honesty in an industry that doesn’t encourage it.

  1. This is why I love her. She’s real and understands that it takes more than talent to do well in the music business. Say what you want, but you can have all the talent in the world and still never become a star.

  2. She’s also the right complexion and she’s attractive. There’s no doubt that those two factors have helped her make it as well.

  3. I think Rihanna is underestimating herself. I think she can hold a note. And she can sound really good when she wants to. But she’s really successful because of her personality. She has a lot of personality and isn’t afraid to live life on her own terms. That’s very appealing to a lot of people. Myself included. 🙂

  4. She’s right and this actually applies to all areas of life. You can have a lot of talent and still never make it in anything you do. Dedication is what it takes to be successful. I think that’s why Bey and Rih are where they are today. Both are very driven and they work all the time. To win you have to be willing to dedicate yourself to the work required to get on top.
