K. Michelle made an appearance at August Alsina’s recent performance at SOB’s in New York, and she ended up ranting about the music industry and calling out other male R&B artists while praising August. She says:
“I’m in the music industry and y’all got to see how f*cked up the sh*t was for me, right? And New York has really held me down. Like this has been my home. The stations…everybody and see the thing is we don’t get a lot of real people in the music industry. So what I need y’all to do is make sure you go out and get August album.
“A lot of the n*ggas that y’all want to f*ck, they in my phone and y’all don’t want to f*ck them if you knew how lame they was. This one right here, he is the future. It is what it is, so we have to support the music that’s the real music. These other n*ggas, I’m telling you they is not about that life. Them n*ggas like each other. No lie, no lie, no lie!
“Don’t let these fake a-s n*ggas get these album sales. They playing wit y’all a*s.”

She needs to chill with this being real schtick. She will never have the career she wants with that hood mentality. There’s a reason why Mary J. went from hood to the queen of Hip Hop soul. A little professionalism goes a long way. Time to grow up Kimberly.

Sigh. I really be trying to ride for K but she is just becoming a little too much. She is always in some mess. Why is it a concern of hers to worried about other male r&b singers. I would be focusing on maintaining my own career. Get it together K.

Why do hood boogers equate being real to being hood? It’s the dumbest mentality I have ever seen.
Thank you. I don’t understand it either. One should use a growing music career to grow as an individual. I see no growth in K Michelle. And it’s unfortunate because I really do like her. I just wish she would gain some maturity and leave this kind of behavior to the younger artists who don’t know any better.
