Damon Dash didn’t hold back any shade for Jay Z after video of Solange Knowles attacking him in an elevator went viral but now he’s speaking out on the situation completely and he says he was just happy to see people finally having enough courage to make fun of Jay Z on social media.

He tells Hip Hop Motivation:

“I thought it was funny cause Jay is the kinda guy you don’t see him move like that much. And when he does move, if it’s not that cool looking, then it’s going to be kicks. Also I feel like nobody teases Jay but me for some reason. It’s just the first time I’ve seen people freely expressing themselves. What I’m really happy about is when they were bombing on me about saying I was broke and all that there wasn’t any Instagram cause I’m sure people would have had mad funny jokes. But I would have been getting back at n*ggas. I like to snap.”

Apparently Dame would have most likely returned the violence. Dame goes on to say that he understands Jay Z did the right thing by not getting violent because he has to play corporate politics, but he can see it being possible that Jay Z isn’t sweating the situation at all:

“I think if he cares then he’s probably embarrassed. If he doesn’t care then he should be enjoying it. Me, I wouldn’t care. I know how it feels to be bombed on. That n*gga bombed on me for five years straight, I just laughed at it. You saw how I handled it. Being that I went through it, I can be like that…I can say what I’m saying. And Jay likes to play. He snaps.”

It was rumored the whole incident went down because Dame’s ex-wife Rachel Roy tried to hit on Jay Z and he didn’t seem to mind it, but Dame says he’s not quite sure he believes the rumors:

“If he was tryna holla at my wife though, that’s kinda f*cked up [laughs]. But I don’t think he was doing that. That would be bad. That would be dark. That means he really has some resentment but I would hope that wouldn’t be the case.”

  1. I don’t know why, but I have yet to find any humor in this situation. No one but the people in that elevator know what really happened, but whatever it was, it must have been some real messed up stuff. I wonder how many parodies there would be if he had hit her back. Would it be funny then?

  2. The way I see it this is just more proof that Jay was always smarter than Dame. Jay realizes that Rachel Roy isn’t wifey material and better off as a side chick. I mean the bish hangs with Kim K for crying out loud. You don”t wife Rachel, you smut her out on the side and marry an actual woman who can make her own money like Beyonce without making you lose all of yours. Dame can laugh all he wants. He still loses. Rachel took his money and divorced him like the dummy he is.

  3. I don’t really care what Dame has to say. He’s still mad Jay ended up becoming more successful than him. He’s bitter and it shows. Jay did the right thing by not hitting Solange back. He’s many things but stupid isn’t one of them.

  4. So is this all Dame is good for now…doing interviews about Jay Z? Damn that’s pathetic.

  5. I don’t understand why some people feel Jay should have hit Solange back. That would have made the situation even worse and ruined all of their careers. I get that there are stupid people in the world but come on.

  6. It must be sad that people only want to talk to you about somebody else. Nobody ever mentions Dame unless he is talking about Jay. It is just pathetic that he has to speak about Jay to get a buzz.
