The female rap game has been on lock by Nicki Minaj since her “Pink Friday” reign, but the femcee might have to share the spotlight very soon with someone other than Iggy Azalea.
According to MTV News, Nicki’s homie Remy Ma has been released from prison and she’s already making plans to get back in the studio.
MTV News writes:
After serving a six-year prison sentence, Bronx rapper Remy Ma was released on Thursday (July 31).
Hot 97′s morning show reported that the former Terror Squad rapper was released from the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women in New York, around 8 a.m. on Thursday morning. Remy was greeted by her husband Papoose, in addition to her manager and other members of her entourage.
Just to refresh your memory, Remy was sentenced to eight years in prison for assault charges back in 2008 for shooting another woman for allegedly stealing $3000 from the rapper.
Update: Apparently Remy Ma was not released from prison today. According to new reports, her release was delayed because of disciplinary reasons.

Contrary to earlier reports, Remy Ma has not been released from prison, MTV News has confirmed. The Bronx rapper was scheduled to be released from the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility in New York on Thursday (July 31).
“Remy Smith’s tentative release date of July 31 was postponed due to a misbehavior report involving a July 21 incident for phone violations, particularly third party calling,” Linda Foglia, a public information officer for the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision told MTV News.
…Though there’s no way of knowing for sure, it seems this violation stems from when Remy called into Angie Martinez’s Power 105 show on July 21.
As of now, it’s unclear when she will now be released from prison.

She need to work to pay for her ex friend hospital bills…..since her ex friend is paralyze, she will need to pay a settlement……shooting people over money. Smh

She was dumb to actually shoot someone over money. Now she has so much ground to make up and right now Hip Hop has been whitewashed so bad most people aren’t going to support her. Wasted talent.

Remy can out-rap most of the people in the game now, male or female. Unfortunately no one is going to be checking for her. Even Nicki is hanging on by a thread. The media wants whites to dominate the genre now and will do anything they can to make that happen.

She got paroled to the projects??? Damn her hubby didn’t at least buy a house or get an apartment for them while she was in prison in the BX, Mt Vernon, Yonkers neighborhoods?? Smh I would b happy to be home but u knw how the projects are u can’t walk in or out w/o being seen or noticed and it’s summertime….so nothing a-s people are out all day sitting on the bench, sittin in the window or standing in the lobby
