While the tabloids continue to obsess over the current state of Jay Z and Beyonce’s marriage, it’s clear Queen Bey is still proving she’s a force to be reckoned with all on her own.

The singer will be the next recipient of the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award and she will perform at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards.

Billboard writes:

Beyonce will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award and perform at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 24 at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif.

An 11-time winner for her solo work and as a member of Destiny’s Child, Beyonce leads all nominees this year with eight. Among the awards she is up for are Video of the Year, Best Female and Best Choreography.

Bey has performed numerous times on the VMAs: “Ring the Alarm” in 2006; “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” in 2009 and the baby-bump reveal on the 2011 show during “Love On Top.”

The Video Vanguard Award has previously been given to Jackson, Madonna, Peter Gabriel, R.E.M., Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears.

Congrats to Beyonce.

    1. Right? Like there was any doubt she would stay winning!

You know the stupid tabloids are gonna be waiting with baited breath for her to announce her divorce at the VMAs, like she did her pregnancy. *rolls eyes*

  1. No matter what happens with her marriage, Bey’s career is something for her to be proud of. She’s achieved so much.

  2. Not a fan but it’s nice to see a black woman get this. It’s just not enough black women doing it big in music. And now they are trying to whitewash Hip Hop too. Smh.

  3. Well deserved. She’s had several iconic music videos and her visual album was well done. Congrats.

  4. I had a feeling she would get it this year. She had a great year with the surprise album going double platinum and the videos being on point. So smart choice.

  5. She’s making me want to watch videos again…I used to love music videos but all the video channels have turned to reality tv and bad sitcoms! I couldn’t wait to get home and catch MTV Jams!!!
