Kimye’s wedding made headlines months ago, and it was reported that the E! cameras were rolling and the footage could possibly end up in a future episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” However, the show has been struggling in the ratings department this season, and E! put out a press release declaring that the finale and “Kimye wedding” pulled in whopping ratings but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
The press release reads:
E!’s power-house combination of the definitive hit pop culture series’ “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and “#RichKids of Beverly Hills” served to bolster the network’s ratings over Labor Day weekend. As one of cable’s biggest shows, the two-part season nine finale of “Keeping Up With Kardashians” – featuring the family’s events leading up to the wedding of Kim Kardashian – reached 5.8 million total unique viewers on August 31 (9-10:30 pm) and September 1 (9-10 pm). Sunday’s premiere hit season highs across key demos, including Total Viewers (2.8 Million), Adults 18-49 (1.9 Million) and Adults 18-34 (1.2 Million), increasing roughly +10% over the 9th season opener with Total Viewers, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. This airing also marked the most-watched original episode in over a year among Total Viewers (August 2013) and most-watched among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 since the 8th season premiere (June 2013).
Interestingly enough, the press release reads like damage control because the network is bragging about the ratings of two separate days.
While the first part of the KUWTK finale amassed 2.8 million viewers, the second part of the finale aired on Monday night, and it only pulled in 2.1 million viewers while part two of the “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” reunion pulled in a whopping 4 million viewers on its first broadcast alone. So KUWTK finale viewership actually dropped off significantly after the first part.
And “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” isn’t the only black reality show burying KUWTK in ratings. RHOA has been outdoing the Kardashians in the numbers game for the last two seasons. In fact, KUWTK’s average ratings is currently 2.30 million. So that means the season finale’s ratings were mediocre and the “Kimye wedding” did not increase ratings by much. And that’s most likely why E! was forced to add up the ratings for both Sunday and Monday’s airings to make the ratings sound more impressive.
But the Kardashians are still a force to be reckoned with. Even though Kim’s reality show is on the decline ratings wise, she still has something to be happy about. The reality star was just named British GQ’s Woman of the Year. Not too shabby.
I think Kim and her family are so overexposed that people have lost interest in watching the show. I mean they are everywhere and people are getting tired of them.

You mean to tell me Kim and her family are on every website and they can only manage to get 2 million people to watch per episode? That’s it? RHOA and all the other black reality shows do better than that on a regular basis. I really thought KUWTK had higher ratings than this.
The Ks have lost steam and are hanging on by a thread. And paying for publicity every single day when eventually make them go broke.

TBH Kanye probably signed a deal with GQ to get Kim that title if he did an exclusive cover with them a few months prior (which he did). Celebs do this all the time. Notice how GQ US didn’t give her the honor.

Yeah people are over the Kardashians. It’s the result of overexposure. And I heard after all that fuss, they still didn’t even show the wedding.

People are over them though. Kim has gotten married got divorced gotten married again had a baby. Khloe has gotten divorced and is trying to stay relevant by dating a D-list rapper. Kourtney is still pumping out babies. Kris and Bruce are separated and she is still pimping out her kids. Kendall and Kylie are following right in the same footsteps. Nothing else can be done to keep people interested.
People don’t watch this bullish-t anymore and haven’t in the last three seasons. When you’re on a blog every single day for something as pointless and minuscule like a-s selfies, people realize how dull you really are and don’t see the point in watching your even duller reality show.
I love me some Kim but it’s time for them to end the show. There’s nothing else to film at this point. We’ve seen Kim basically become the woman she wanted to be. She’s even more famous, and wealthier than she was when the show just started. They have a lot of money and can survive without the show now.
This is bad news for E now that Joan is dead. KUWTK is struggling and now Fashion Police may be cancelled.
You can only pull so many publicity stunts and fake marriages before people get tired of your sh-t.
So when Rihanna or any other black artist pose naked, or even semi-naked in these magazines, they’re dragged all over the internet, but when non-talented Kim does it, she gets Woman of the Year? I see y’all GQ….
Those are very low ratings for a couple that stays in the press. But overexposure can have that effect.
You see these fools all day long. Hell I’m trying to escape from them why would I watch their show?
I’m sure the Ks will keep doing the show until E pulls the plug. I doubt they want to give up this show yet.

Well they are boring now. The shock value is gone. We expect Kim to get married about five more times now. We expect Kris to pimp out the youngest kids like she’s done Kim and the others. We expect them to be dysfunctional and be so addicted to the fame they will do whatever necessary to keep their names in the news. I mean we get who they really are and there’s no interest in watching them now. When they started they were down to earth and relatable. Now there’s just the typical attention whores chasing Hollywood.
E is going to ride the Ks until the wheels come off. That network is struggling.
“Over saturated”. When we can find out all of their intimate details on the daily basis, in real time, why do we, as a general public need to watch the same scenarios under different lighting, in HD a month and a half after we’ve gotten the majority of the story?
