Andre 3000 has been keeping busy with the Outkast tour and also his starring role in the Jimi Hendrix biopic, but the legendary emcee is still finding time to do interviews and open up a little about his personal life.
The rapper has a son with his former love Erykah Badu and although Erykah recently admitted that she still has a strong physical attraction to Seven’s father, it appears Andre doesn’t feel the same way. In fact, he tells VIBE that he sees her more like a sister at this point of his life:
“Our son is about to be 17 and he tells us, ‘You guys are nuts. Erykah and I are cool friends, man. We talk on the phone. She even asks my advice on relationships. She’s like a cool sister more than anything. The first thing people would think about us is, ‘Oh, they don’t get along.’ But there are always feelings when people grow apart. It’s something you have to get through. But man, we are cool.”
This should be heartbreaking news for all the people who believe Erykah has magical c–ch and can have any man she wants. I believe Andre was the only man she loved and if he wanted her back, she wouldn’t hesitate.
She’s human. I think we all have that one person who got away. Andre is hers.

Hmmm…I always believed 3 stacks was the only man Erykah loved. And I think 3 stacks only fell in love once and that was with that girl from Total.

I really feel like Erykah is still in love with Dre and I can’t even blame her!!
Love is not guaranteed, and I remember the two of them meeting and dating a bit and then she got pregnant. I don’t think he expected to suddenly become a father and that caused a rift. Over the years they have found a better understanding and are raising their son as great friends. That doesn’t mean he wants her for his lady. Andre is a rare, thoughtful, and intellectual being, and I don’t think he saw her as being compatible with him.
