Beyonce’s self titled album made history on iTunes within hours of its surprise release, and the singer was able to sell over a million copies in a week.

With the EP dropping today (Beyonce released two new tracks), it now looks as if Queen Bey will one again reign on the iTunes charts.

As of now, the album is sitting pretty in the number two spot.

That Grape Juice writes:

Today brought with it the Platinum Edition re-release of the singer’s mega-selling self-titled album, which ‘7/11′ sits on as one of two new songs.

With the cut available as a standalone purchase, it’s rocketed to #9 on the strength of its accompanying visual. The album re-issue is holding firm at #2.

And while one should act with caution before christening ‘7’ a hit, when triangulating its video streams (which have reached 20 million in three days), its radio add date tomorrow, and digital sales, it very well looks as if that’s the territory it’s heading toward.

  1. Not a stan but I have to give credit where it’s due. Beyonce is a savvy business woman and a lot of artists can learn from her. When she retires, her whole family will be set for life. I can’t even hate.

  2. Beyoncé’s business acumen when it comes to her career will one day be the stuff of legend. They will be studying her approach at business schools, and in the entertainment field for years to come. She has redefined the way albums are released in this modern era of digital downloads. Good for her!
