For the last few weeks, Mo’Nique has been in the headlines because she claimed in an interview that Lee Daniels told her she had been blacklisted because she made some insane demands during the Oscar campaign for “Precious.”

Lee responded and claimed that he feels Mo’Nique actually hurt her own career with her attitude but Mo’Nique then claimed she wasn’t really blacklisted and the movie roles are still coming in. Yet, she has turned down a lot of work because she doesn’t want to play stereotypical characters.

Fellow “Precious” star Gabourey Sidibe has weighed in on the situation and tweeted the following which some feel may have been shade to Mo’Nique (who eventually responded):

  1. Mo should have let it go when she had the chance. Now she really is giving some credit to the rumors about her attitude.

  2. I think Gabby should stay out of this. She’s the one who managed to get lots of roles since Precious. Let Mo’Nique continue to shoot herself in the foot.

    1. Ok!! Gabby is booked, so she doesn’t need to say anything. Let Monique continue to dig herself into a hole.

  3. Everyone needs to just let Mo’Nique go back to the rock she crawled from up under. She’s pulling all these stunts and telling all these lies to promote her movie.

  4. I tried to give Monique the benefit of the doubt but she keeps making herself look stupid. As for Gabourey Sidibe girl stay out of this because the real issue is between Monique and Lee Daniels. So she needs to be quiet I understand taking up for her boss Lee Daniels but I hope she remembers he is only loyal to his craft.*sips tea*

  5. Precious was made in love? No. Actually it was a stereotypical pile of utter sh-t and I never have to see that movie again.

    1. yeah lol…it’s cause they cant stand to see the gorgeous black women on the big screen…the ones who’s trends they all copy, they dont wanna see those types gaining positive prestige and making more money.

  6. All I can say is I just finished binge-watching Empire on Hulu, (it’s everything everybody said it would be!) ain’t no way in h-e-double hockey sticks Monique would have been able to be effective as Cookie. The right person was cast, and as the other person said, hard to believe it would have been offered in the first place.
