The other day R&B singer Keri Hilson hopped on Twitter to seemingly defend NAACP leader Rachel Dolezal amid controversy as a result of her white parents coming forward to confirm she’s been pretending to be a black woman for the last several years, and Keri told her followers that they should thank Rachel because she’s done more for black people than most black people.

Now that folks on social media have been in her mentions something serious for the remarks, Keri thinks it’s important to clarify her earlier tweets.

Gossip Cop writes:

In response to the criticism, Hilson tweeted a clarification on Saturday. “I don’t defend her, I just don’t like to assume or pass judgement on people’s hearts,” she wrote. “WE don’t really know her motives. Only GOD.” Hilson added in a second message, “Hey, she got outta bed every morning & did excellent work for the advancement/equality of MY ppl. THAT affects me. Let God handle the rest!”

  1. She needs to look up the definition of defending. Now I’ve never been a fan of her personality, but I didn’t realize how much of an airhead she is.

  2. Keri just talks too much. She is always putting her foot in her mouth. And the ignorance about the NAACP is another problem. As an organization, they haven’t really been for the advancement of black people in decades. It’s time we stop pretending.

  3. She just needs to stop tweeting abut this. What she tweeted the other day was offensive and so misinformed.
