Actress Zoe Saldana found herself and her husband Marco Perego to be the targets of controversy after she confirmed in a recent interview that he took her last name as a sign of respect, and lots of people see the decision as a symbol that the actress is the more dominant one in the marriage.
However, Zoe is annoyed because she think it’s messy that the media isn’t also reporting about the fact that she took his last name as well.
She tells Jimmy Kimmel:
“Why does it mean that a woman has to hold a gun and like, ‘you’re going to be Saldana!’
“I took his. Why didn’t that make the news?
“I’m Saldana-Perego, he’s Perego-Saldana.”
Zoe also says the children are going by Perego-Saldana. Check out the video below:
I didn’t know she took his last name too. That’s sweet.
Me either. That changes things for me.
Whatever works for them.
They have an understanding so that’s all that matters I guess.
If they both took each other’s last names, I don’t see the issue.
